Clear optics, light weight, ridiculous drop compensator... under $100... OK

It's fairly small and light, which is nice in a tactical scope and the optics are more clear than I thought I'd get. On the top adjustment knob for elevation, there is a way to sight this scope in for 100 yds and then turn this knob up to the 200, 300, 400 or 500 yd range and the scope is suppose to still be on.

The problem? This bullet drop compensator is calibrated for a .223-55 grain round. I'm not sure what rock Nc Star crawled out from but the military round as used today is 5.56mm round (higher pressure than a .223) and a 62 grain projectile. This is what they passed out to us during our missions in Fallujah back in 2004-05... and thats what this scope should be set to use. To me, that sounds like Nc Star is trying to appeal to people to poor to spend the extra on the good ammunition. If you can't afford a few extra dollars for the good ammo, you shouldn't own an AR!

I would not hesitate to purchase again.

The NCSTAR Mark III is excellent Scope, easy to adjust , seems to stay adjusted at about 150 rounds in a AR-15 5.56 would recommend to friends.
NCStar is very responsive when contacted I had a problem getting the Tactical Red Dot Sight adjusted, one phone call and they shipped an new Red Dot Sight, which adjusted with no problem. Thinking about another one for a .308 rifle.

Item is better than expected. Ease of use is wonderful and sights work great. I bought this for my AR-15. Honestly being prior military I didn't think this would be anything that I was used to, but the item surpassed my expectations. I've used it from a variance of ranges, from as little as 25 yards all the way to 500 yards and I get great precision accuracy each shot. I couldn't have got a better scope for the price anywhere else. I probably won't ever put another scope on my rifle after seeing how wonderful this one worked for my particular need. If you are looking for a good deal for your rifle without going broke doing so this is a good choice.

Nice compact scope, clear optional lighted cross hairs are nice feature. Easy on off release that goes back on to zero.

NcSTAR MARK 3 STM3942G AR-15 scope

I read multiple reviews both online and off before buying this item. As with anything both good and bad existed but the bad comments also provided simple solutions to common issues so I chose to go with this particular scope and am very satisfied and happy with it. It is compact, it does the job, the reticle is illuminated and the quick release works great. It also comes with directions and how to site it in as an added bonus for anyone not familiar with zeroing in a scope. For the money it's a nice quality scope that works great within a realistic range for a small caliber rifle.
