After reading the other reviews I decided to write one because no one mentioned that this movie was baised on a true happening. A city girl goes to Brittish Columbia CANADA to write a story about Salmon for her magazine editor, and discovers there is a lot more to life than what she had experienced. It changes her life. That is the real story here. Yes it is a love story. It is also filmed in a very sceenic area. Originally I rented this movie because it sounded good and had Jaclyn Smith in it. We used to own and opperate a salmon drift-net fishing boat -so we could relate to some of the movie because of that. I should also mention that my husband also liked it. We found it interesting, intertaining, and educational.
I love this movie. I believe it was a "made for television" one. I liked the story line watching a loving relationship develop between the two main characters when they started off obviously almost hating each other. Their life styles were so different, but in the end they found a way to make it work. Of course the movie ended when it was really just the beginning for Edith and John. Perhaps they should make a sequel so we can see if their love for each other past the test ot time. The scenery was outstanding and the extras seemed to possibly be locals that they used. I wanted a copy of it because I was never able to catch it from the beginning several times when it was running on television. So I had only seen it in bits and pieces. I really have enjoyed it and have watched it several times and loaned it out to a couple of my friends....Thanks for giving me this chance to review! Betty Hopkins

Winter 2007: Early one morning, although very tired, I'd been watching TV and little entertained by what was on. That is until, by accident, I stumbled upon this wonderful movie. The story is well written and unfolds beautifully. This is a movie that reminds us, mostly those of us not necessarily looking for love, that we may discovery it someplace we could not have believed or even imagined.
