|Hit the ice with EA Sports' NHL 95. For the first time in an EA hockey game, tear up the ice as actual players on any of the league's 26 teams in 1995. You can take control of the Blackhawks' Eddie Belfour as he tries to block the slapshot of the Great One himself, Wayne Gretzky. |
If real players aren't good enough for you, you can even create your own. With this feature, the best player on your favorite team could turn out to be you. Is there somebody on the team that you just can't stand? Then trade him! With this new feature, you can deal as though you were the team's management itself.
So put on those pads. Buckle that helmet. Slip into those skates. It's hockey time!

For classic hockey fans, and retro gamers alike, NHL 95 is an excellent addition to your catalogue.
Although the gameplay leaves a little to be desired in the realism department, the game makes up for it with entertainment value. One-on-one play is frantic, as the goals are scored at a furious pace. Plus, there's the fun of playing with retro players (Lindros, Roy, Lemieux, Messier, Wendel Clark, Gilmour, Bourque, the list goes on and on).
Although the NHL series games don't vary much from year to year, I would recommend that everybody has at least one of the NHL's from 94-96 in their collection.
I bought it because it's cheap, and its PCB has the same components and setup as a lot of games that are actually good. I got a few copies in order to take out their ROM and replace it with that of said good games (Seiken Densetsu 3, Treasure of the Rudras, Terranigma, Live A Live, etc.).
Sports games for the SNES are usually not worth anything in and of themselves, except for nostalgia. Graphics and gameplay have become so dated, without any storytelling to back them up, that the cartridges are only as good as their parts.
NHL '95 brings back an age of hockey that has been long gone. With such greats as Messier, Gretzky, and Lemieux, you can relive those moments in NHL '95. Want to play as the Hartford Whalers? You can! Great fun for all ages and a must have for the SNES
The game works perfectly no problem with buying, totally recommended.I bought several games and have all working perfectly, I had no problem with either.
