I purchased this unit partly because my previous Moultrie gave up the ghost after a couple years. By getting the same brand my solar panel used with the original Moultrie is still useable. I like this one better having LED lighting which saves the 4 D cell batteries. My other unit used 6 and they didn't last very long. This unit seems to activate better at night than the other and gives clear night pictures along with the daylight shots.
I LIKE THIS CAMERA ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE I-65.THE I-65 ADDS ICING ON THE CAKE WITH A VIEW SCREEN LARGE AND BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE.THEY BOTH TAKE EXCELLENT HQ DAY AND NIGHT(B&W INFRARED)PICS AND VIDS;SUPER QUIET SHUTTER,FAST SHUTTER SPEED,AND NO RED GLOW UNLESS YOU STARE AT THE CAMERA IN THE DARK,AND MAY NOT NOTICE IT THEN!
Two problems I have encountered with these cameras.1)the small ribbon cable from the control board to the main board has a tendency to pull out of its zif connectors and is hard to get realigned.2)2 cameras I tested would fill the internal memory but not record to the removable SD card...still working on both these problems.
I have never had a game camera before so I read up on the Moultrie spy 1-45 and like what I read. It takes wonderful photos they are crisp and clean. I have yet to find anything that I don't like about it.Now I'm thinking about getting one for my brother-in-law for christmas he really likes the one I have.
I use this camera at my house. I feed deer and watch thier progress from fawns to adults. I have use this camera for only a month but it works fairly well. It takes great still pictures but the videos are a little grainy. I really like the flip top, it is really easy to set up and change the sd card. Overall it is a good camera.
This is my 2nd camera. My first on got stolen, but i liked how it operates and takes great pictures so i order another one. The simple operation of the camera to swap out the SD cards makes it quick to view.
