With Google's next generation of Android, Motorola's knack for great hardware, and Verizon's promise of 4G network compatibility, the Xoom tablet technically offers a more powerful, more capable alternative to Apple's iPad.
It's expensive, slightly heftier than the iPad, and novice users may balk at Android 3.0's read-the-manual attitude. Adobe Flash not yet supported.
The Xoom's spec sheet is enough to make any tablet tremble, but the price is high and Google still has some work to do before its tablet software experience is as fleshed out and intuitive as Apple's.

I love this tablet. Goes all day without recharge and, depending on usage, can go two days or more. I'm new to tablets and new to Android but like both very much. This particular one is wifi only, which is good for me. I'm typing this on my new tablet and on wifi.
There's a link to free (and paid) apps that do amazing things. I got the Xoom because I want to use it for work. (I teach at a small college.) So I want it to do Microsoft Office stuff (there are apps for that) and E-mail, calendar, etc. It works great for all that stuff.
I'd researched it for a couple of days and this seemed like the best deal for the money (about $300 used). GPS, which works with Google maps, accelerometers (3 components and, as a seismologist, I find that fun), barometer, sound meter, I forget all the sensors on this thing and devs (developers) have made ingenious use of them for a conga line of (free) apps.
The free apps usually have small ads in them but they're pretty easy to ignore or mentally screen out. Apps have user ratings and reviews so you go in with your eyes open.
It has HDMI output but no VGA (I'm shopping for converters now), slot for one expansion (those little SD cards) card, up to 32gb. I've got just about everything I need on here and have used a small fraction 2% or 3%) of the internal drive, none of the card. I did buy an expansion card but won't need it unless I make a heroic effort to fill up with movies, music, pix, etc.
It also has a mini or micro-USB slot, and a cable so the Xoom can talk to the computer. I'm not sure but I think there's no synching, per se, but there are ways of backing up. I'm not sure about synching because I just installed the PC software that goes with the Xoom and haven't plugged into the computer since then.
Does not charge from computer; must use plug or dock.
this tablet has exelent screen size, exelent price, exelent battery life (i love this part).
I love this tablet because it's screen, it's so responsitive and 10.1" it's so good for reading ebooks, or web browing and all kind of activities...
Camera it's awesome, it take great pictures and videos.
i love the idea that this tablet gets the Android 4.0.4 it runs super Fast and Smooth on it...
I bought this tablet because i want to use it with the Android Accessory Development Kit because this tablet has USB Host capabilities...
I would definitively recommend this tablet...
This tablet has great color, weight isn't bad most useful for everything. It is great for getting the kids to sit and watch videos or play games and it isn't bad on their eyes like a phone. Sound is clear and there are multiple jacks on it for connecting a sound bar with different connections.
I bought this tablet to better interface the internet and my music with the stereo/TV. The tablet is a typical size but slightly heavier than some models like the Samsung Galaxy. It feels solid, though, and think the metallic type case looks and feels terrific. It is very snappy and with the Honeycomb 3.2 update quite stable. This tablet is more versatile than most I looked at with HDMI and some great dock options (see the HD speaker dock) that allow permanent placement connected to an a-v system for example. The only small complaint I have is related to the 4-5 second power button press and hold required to turn it on. Every day I find this tablet more useful and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a truly great Android tablet.
I love this Tablet I have wanted one for a long time,But could not afford the high price. take it where ever you go school, doctor, church any where. it's small & light easy to use. Love the touch,no more mouse, easy to control.
this one is 32GB with ability to up it to 32 more with SD card that's pretty Big. Play a game, Read a book or write one. watch video, take pictures.Better than a desk top because your not tied to it.Better than a lap top because it's smaller & it doesn't get hot like lap.Great battery life.
I love mine and unless you live under a rock you would love it to.
