| The Moto Razr V3 is expertly crafted to deliver exceptional performance. Inside the ultra-thin design are features like MPEG4 video playback, Bluetooth wireless technology, a digital camera and more. And with the precision-cut keypad, minimalist styling and metal finish, the V3 looks just as beautiful as it performs. The real difference is in the details. See who's calling, in color, without opening your phone - the large internal display is complemented by an impressive external display. The precision-cut metal keypad reacts to the lightest of touches. And the features you can't always see are equally impressive, like quad-band GSM - for global calls where GSM network coverage and roaming agreements are present. | |

Out of the box, and with the accessories included, this phone seemed to be a good value. (seemed to be) I was in need of a second phone, and since I bought this same model at Walmart almost two years ago during a model close-out, and have had excellent reception and easy use of all the features, I decided to get the same easy to use basic phone - for calls and occasional messages. I am not in need of the ever popular "smart phone", I use a cell phone as an emergency communication device, not a novelty toy. I also utilize a prepaid ATT account to lower the overall monthly cost.
After installing a new sim card, the differences became very apparent. The main menu was not the same as my original ATT phone. Some of the menu items were misspelled or missing. I could deal with that, as long as the functions were the same. WRONG. The first time I tried to send a message - an error appeared -"unable to send" and resend did nothing. The quality of regular calls was acceptable, IF and WHEN it WOULD OBTAIN A SIGNAL. The screen was hard to read in a dimly lighted room, and FORGET about daylight, everything was washed-out and unreadable. I couldn't even see the clock since the display was only available in black. It took pictures like it should, but forget about sending them to somebody else, or extracting them for viewing.
In the same area at the same time as my ATT phone, this phone would lock into "emergency only", or "no service mode" making it impossible to make calls. After several hours of researching programming options, and trying to update or enable basic features that should have been included, I gave up on this POS.
The final straw occurred when I needed to contact my wife from home for a semi-emergency, and no matter where I positioned myself, or how many times I rebooted the phone, I could not make a call, and got the message "call failed" every time. She arrived a short time after, and had a full signal on her phone. This phone has outdated software and 2006 menu options for generic FOREIGN use that are severely limited for normal use in the USA. I believe that it is an obvious Chinese "knockoff" of the original Motorola V3 Razr (which the misspelled menu items should have been my first clue) and is not worth the trouble or frustration it has caused. I just recently had enough of this B.S. and smashed it against a concrete floor, and threw it in the trash where it belongs.
This phone has a lot of nifty features and takes great pictures. It has good sound quality. I bought a red one so I can find it in my handbag and that is great. Unfortunately, there are downsides to this phone -- the most important one is that it simply does not hold a charge for any reasonable length of time. I changed the battery 3 times. The seller even graciously sent me a new battery - to no avail. For example, after charging the phone overnight I had a 15 minute phone call. The phone started beeping during the call and I had to recharge it again. Also, the phone constantly has to be recharged after entering data. Bottom line, even though I love what this phone can do, the downtime for recharging makes it difficult to live with. I've had a Motorola RAZR V3 before (purchased directly from T-Mobile) and it was fantastic. Bottom line is although I love the various things this phone can do, it is simply not worth the constant down time for recharging.
I like this phone because it is not too bulky, easy to operate, has a camera, find recent calls easily. The battery doesn't seem to last as long as my nokia though, but that is not a big problem. Also the speaker at the ear piece sounds a little shallow with incoming calls.I understand they improved on this with the newer models over the years. I still like it and would recommend it. The major parts like lens, led screen, and battery can be ordered at a reasonable price on the web, and you can still get universal cases at department stores around the states. I got mine at walmart.I bought this phone due to fact it was way cheaper than other phones for the features I wanted, and bought it new!It came with the manuel, ac charger, and ear piece.
Overall this is a great phone. Very solid build, excellent reception and good battery life. Unlike most other phones this size it feels solid and sturdy in your hand and because it has a metal alloy body you can freely toss it in a bag and not worry about any damage.
The best features of this this particular model is that it uses quad band GSM technology, not CDMA. So as long as you have an appropriate SIM card you can use it just about anywhere in the world on any network. We picked this one up to use in Israel.
My wife and I have both owned these in the past we were very sad to give them up. In fact the only reason we did was because we prefer a qwerty keyboard for texting. If you don't need to text or if you are ok with using t9, then I see no draw back to purchasing one of these.
This phone is not the real thing. I own a real Motorola Razr from AT&T but my screen is broken, so i ordered this phone. It is considerably lighter weight than my original. The "JKL" key sticks while texting. The battery included with the phone barely holds a charge. I have been using my old battery from my broken phone instead. I will probably keep this phone because I wanted a flip phone and wanted to be able to use all of the accessories that I bought for my old broken Razr. Plus, I am not due for a free upgrade with my current AT&T contract for another year. I am upset that this phone was advertised as "used" but in fact, it is just a fake.
