THIS PHONE IS FOR REAL PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCE LIFE AND ALL ITS TORTURES!

This is my 5th Motorola Defy. I read past reviews and they angered me. Sure there are phones with larger screens. There are FASTER phones. There are many phones out there with better features. OK so go buy one of those and when your phone drops out of your pocket into the pool, or lake, OR something closer to home... the toilet... or your child throws it in the sink (speaking from experience) Lets see how great that other phone is! The answer is it will more than likely be a paperweight! An expensive DEAD paperweight. I have camcordered my children playing in the pool, Ive camcordered them swimming FROM UNDER WATER, Ive filmed entire water park rides including Kali River Rapids. And its a phone.. so in its most basic use I have dealt with customers while standing in the pouring down rain, escaping a flooded parade, Ive texted while fixing broken and spraying plumbing pipes, and dropped it countless times as well. My phone experienced every second of my chaotic life. If your a runway model type and your only concerned with bling and screensize and speed this isn't your phone. If your a realist who experiences life to its fullest and your phone has to be able to keep up AND SURVIVE your active lifestyle and all its abuses... then maybe you are reading the right review. My only gripes are as follows: The thing goes crazy when wet (best only for talk when wet as water wigs out the touchscreen). and my main gripe.. What the HECK is wrong with the cellphone industry??? Why am I buying a slow internet smartphone with a smaller screen? Oh yeah.. because they are too stupid to realize that some of us live active lifestyles and want more protection for our phones than a lame warranty. Some of us still want a phone that can take abuse. Were not all sitting in an office or college campus all day. Some of us are working on a farm, fixing plumbing, vacationing at water-parks and generally rough on phones and its a dang shame they wont take a hint when this phone with poor internet did as well as it did sales wise despite its technological shortcomings. Mind you. Its all I need. But bigger better faster and tougher would be a nice thing to see on the shelf of my local t-mobile store. Until then I'll use this Motorola Defy.

Rugged and easy to use

It may not have the fastest processor or 4G but this phone is a great product. It's small form factor make it easier to live with than the big-screen behemoths and it's ruggedized exterior have helped it survive coffee spills and workouts without missing a beat.
Also, Motoblur is great. Moving from phone to phone couldn't be easier.Put your SIM in the phone, log in to Motoblur and it restores all your settings.
I unlocked it and use it in Europe with Virgin UK. Get great data rates and performance there too.

The motorola defy is not worth the price. There are better smart phones!

I purchased this phone because of the fact that it is dust proof- but the terrible things about using this phone do not make it worth buying just because it is dust proof. It is hard to text on this phone, and the battery life is terrible. Sometimes, the phone shuts off for no reason at all and reboots. I would never buy this phone again. Not worth the 250.00 I paid for it.

Very Good Phone and Cheap Price for it .

i bought this phone for my wife , a gift . 1st day , battery was short life and keep shut down , i have to reboot and work . After that I have time and read more , find out that I can adjust Battery for longer life . All i have to do is go SETTING and to Battery Manager and just it . Also I go to Display , to Screen Timeout and adjust to NEVER TIME OUT for SCREEN and the phone never turn off by it self . The Phone working great and I never have any problem with it any more and She love it . Only thing that I don't like is have to pay bigger phone bill :) LOL .

Okay product

The phone is good but the battery life really sucks, my old phone would last me three days without charge, but this phone barely lasts me a day. Sometimes the phone freezes and I have take the battery off. The wifi sometimes doesn't scan properly. Sometimes when i try to open my gallery my photos don't show up, also i thought this phone had a front-faced camera. I bought this because it was cheap. this is probably a slower smartphone than most
