The Motorola Barrage has a durable design and a functional feature set that includes push-to-talk. Photo and call quality are satisfactory.
The Motorola Barrage's 3G connection is a bit slow, and video and music quality are unimpressive.
The Motorola Barrage offers Verizon Wireless customers a rugged push-to-talk phone with admirable call quality.

this phone is built tough. i like the durability factor. some things that i dont like- you cannot set your center button to go to messages. this is probably because they made a dedicated message button. however when your used to setting your center button to whatever you like its a pain to break an old habit of using it in that fashion.
i also do not like the web feature. you have too many steps to get to the web and every time you use it you must start from scratch. my old motorola was nice in that it would pick up on the last page you viewed.
i love that the memory card is accessible easy though and since i am in construction i am hoping that this phone will hold up to the beating that the other phones have not.
if it does the retraining of this old brain is worth it.
I got this phone for work and decided to use one for my personal phone as well.
This is simple to operate, takes a beating (being waterproof and shock resistant helps) and has excellent call quality. I have had this phone for over six months at work prior to getting one on eBay for personal use, so I know the phone well.
As someone who flirted for a time with the smartphone craze, I've gone back to a simple flipper that I can use to talk and text. It's not laggy and it's a great simple phone for the standard user who isn't looking for a portal to the web in their pants.
I have heard the concerns about the battery and know some people that have had the issue. I haven't run across it. Both of mine hold a charge well for me, although I have an extended battery for my personal phone. I charge it every couple of days, no problems and it never goes below two bars. Better than any smartphone, that's for sure.
Obviously this phone isn't for everyone and it's the opposite of flashy, but I would recommend it for anyone who wants a simple phone and one that is durable. I've dropped this phone several times and it's very durable. Also, I've "field tested" the waterproofing. It's also beerproof!
A great Motorola product that you can get at a fair price. Android operating system with a touch screen as well as a keyboard so this device should work well for anyone. The "conversation" concept for managing texts is nice and the camera has good quality. The only downfall I have so far with this device is that he camera does not appear to have support for a flash.
i really like this phone! i've had it for a few weeks now and really haven't had any trouble with it. i bought this phone because i had a blackberry and was tired of all the blackberry problems! this phone has android 1.6 which is now fairly old, but it is still lightning fast compaired to my blackberry at loading pages. the only problem i had with the motorola devour is that every once in a while i used to bump the mute button or end call button while i was talking to someone. it drove me crazy until i realized that the little motorola m on the left hand top corner of the face of the phone is a prox sensor which turns the screen back on when you move the phone away from your ear. as long as you keep the phone touching your ear the entire time you're on it, you won't have the problem i had. anyways, great phone! i would recommend this for anyone who has never had an android or wants to try a smartphone.
I purchased this phone because my original Motorola Droid once again went crazy and, was of no use to me any longer. Plus, I have always admired the Devour so, I felt it was time to explore this phone. When I first got the phone it worked great. I bought it as a never used phone. As time (1 week later) went on the phone started dropping calls. Or, if I was in a call ppl would constantly say they could not hear me. Then it reached the point where it shut off on its own(2 and half weeks in) and froze on the start-up screen. From there it was no coming back. I had to send the phone in to Motorola to get fixed. My recommendation, don't buy this phone! If you thought the original Motorola droid sucked...this phone is even worse!!! If, I could get my money back I would.....
