Great game, slow load times

I own several of the MotoGP series games for both the original Xbox and the 360. This one is now one of my favorite along with the beloved first release of MotoGP back in 2002. Not only do you get the MotoGP bikes and riders from the 2006 season, you also get the bikes, riders, and liveries from the 2005 season WITHOUT having to pay extra to download the content from x-box live!

You start out your first season as you normally do in the MotoGP series, on an underpowered bike with slow steering and wooden brakes. You gain experience bike performance features by overcoming certain training obstacles, completing technical sections of tracks, and of course by finishing well in actual races. You gain season points, experience points and increase your ranking with each successive race. You unlock bikes, Extreme riders, and tracks as you go through the season. With each race, you go faster, turn better, and accelerate and brake harder and harder.

This version is (I believe) the last version of the game made by Climax studios. They do the best job at simulating an on-track experience aboard a motorcycle. If you get too ham-fisted with the controls, the excellent physics will have you tumbling down the track and into the gravel-traps in no time. The other feature which is amazingly fun, is drifting the 600cc extreme bikes around the road circuits. With the right technique, you can lay huge long patches of rubber into the corners with the throttle pinned!

The only downside are the slow load times between screens, it can take as long as a minute to load a race, a practice, qualifier or experience/credit screen. This is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars.

****Next-Generation Racing****

What's better than the smell of burnt asphalt? Leaving other bikes in the dust in Moto GP of course! For serious racing fans, or those looking for a little fun and speed, this game is a must-have. Next-generation graphics truly brings the race alive making this game the benchmark for future racing games to come.

Impressive realism is experienced as true-to-life physics are implemented during gameplay. Compete and race in various modes and look good doing it too! Feel free to customize your bike in every way possible! Never a dull moment since there are tons of cool unlockables throughout the game and challenging levels.

So feel free to blast the volume, sit back, and enjoy the Hi-Definition graphics. GREAT FOR FANS OF ALL AGES.

amazing..

I got this game for a great price, and im happy i got it. Even though i only played it for about 2 hours alltogether, it was enjoyable, fun and made me feel like it was a real race. The graphics are amazing, even on my crappy 27 in tv it looked almost real. The detailed bikes are superb. Environments are rich and detailed, the drivers themselves look pretty cool, even though they never take their helmets off. Season mode is fun, a bit too easy on rookie mode but it takes time to get used to handling a bike, since it is much harder to drive and control than a normal race car or an f1. But after you get the hang of it, you'll enjoy it and want to keep playing(unlike me who plays too much cod3,damn). If you're a fan of racing games, it's a must buy or rent. Cant go wrong with this game.

MOTO GP (xbox 360)

This game's stunningly real graphics and physics engine make this a immersive experience. It may take new comers to the series a while to get the hang of the controls, turning like a car is now leaning which makes the screen tilt to match the vision from the riders point of view. It contains all the real riders from the GP circuit '06 and features a few video clips from races of the previous season. It is just a graphically bumped up version of the previous year's MOTO GP3 for the xbox 1, but it's still worth the money, now that it's been out for a while and can typically find it for under $30.
