I Purchased this ( tablet ) from ebay for 150$ and tought that i had gotten ripped off but i just wanted to give it a try! so i did not say a word.
when it arrived i fell in love with the 12" display and sise the computer/Tablet works perfectly HOWever if you chose the stock version will have the 500Mb ram and 20GB hard drive wich is kind of low but there are other customised versions outthere that have 1gb ram and 60GB hard drives but cost double the prize that this one cost i love the finger print lock system that is ONLY included in the M1400 versions this automatically replaces keys and simply requires your FINGER print! it loads drivers pretty good .it has 2 usb ports 1 firewire 1 headphone jack 1 mic jack VGA out and the Dock port and it includes a stylus ! the styles is really calibrated and reacts very fast i CLEarly recommend that you upgrade the tablet to 1 GIG ram and more hard drive however if you have an external hard drive it will work just fine it has pretty good graphics wich is not expected in the tablet! the sad part is that it does not have a SD card slot which i was hoping for anyways here is my review and i will base it with 1-10

The Motion Computing Tablet Computers are so incredible, that I can't believe I haven't gotten one before now. After seeing an article in "Popular Science", which posed tablet computers as a viable alternative to the "Kindle Book Reader", I purchased a used unit on eBay.
With the addition of some "Reading Software", and "Drawing Programs" my Motion M1400 Tablet Computer has replaced my Netbook Computer as my "Portable" fo choice. Weighting in at around 4-lbs, the M1400 is only about 1-lb heavier than the average netbook. One of the difference between a netbook and the Motion M1400, is the M1400 has a full size monitor for displaying web pages.
The fact that the display on a Tablet can be rotated makes reading any document so much more enjoyable. You are able to display full pages without having to use the scroll arrows. The M1400 has better than average speed (for an older model), the memory can be upgraded to 2 gigabytes, and the hard drive is only limited by your budget.
If you compare it to current standards, then yeah, it's a bit slow. But as an
e-reader, media player, portable browser, and light productivity, I love it.
I found out I really like pen computing also. The reason I got it was to have a sheet music reader I can put on a piano and turn the pages via hooking it up to a usb foot switch. It does the job well though I wouldn't go with any smaller of a screen. That left out the ipad. Also, I could use my XP apps of which I already have.
The M1400 Motion PC I purchased met all of the requirements I was looking for. I purchased this tablet PC with the hope of acquiring a portable, presentation friendly, tool to be commuted between home and school and have not been disappointed. As the name implies the screen display is adjustable allowing for editing from one angle to presentation of edited documentation from another angle without the need for physical rotation of the screen. The digital pen and reading software included with the PC have a high accuracy in interpreting written text. The pen, when used as configured, is capable of performing all of the functions a mouse is capable of performing. I find editing to be less time consuming due to being able to call editing functions without having to move my hand from the screen to access a mouse. Wireless as well as remote internet access is instantaneous. I have yet to activate the Cisco fingerprint security capabilities but intend to do so should I need to protect highly confidential information. The USB ports have provided the portability I need in transferring files amongst systems. I have been attending college to achieve Master Certification as a Microsoft Office Professional. The software I needed in achieving my goal shipped preinstalled with my PC. Also, the ergonomic friendliness was indispensible. I have used this system for hours on end without problem.
I have only had it a couple of days but am already looking forward to using it in class. It will be nice to take notes and change them over to text an be able to print them out.The writing program is great it has some trouble with the lower case l hopefully it will be able to figure it out soon. The tablet is great alot faster surfing the web than I expected it to be.
