A family-oriented series based on what may happen in anyone's life... but funnier. I am also a fan of NBC's Parenthood, but this is the funny version. Ed O'Neill, once known for his comedic role in Married With Children, stars once again in a modern-day family.
I watched a few episodes on tv when I was looking for something to watch and fell in love. Since I had missed pretty much the beginning of the season, I had to purchase it and have the option to watch it on my own time. I ended up watching the entire season in a weekend.
Hysterical. Witty. And I can find so many drama in the episode I can relate to in some way. A definite "best comedy on television"
This DVD set proves the theory that "more IS better". One episode of this show is delightful....several episodes in a row will fill your heart with smiles. These characters at first glance appear to be stereotypical sitcom faire- not worth a second glance. But just watch the WHOLE show, and you will find, in each episode, under every situation, a common thread of kindness and acceptance. The characters in this family actually LIKE each other, and it shows through.
What do a gay couple with a new adoptive daughter, an aging man with a trophy wife and a family led by a self-described "cool dad" have in common? They're all part of the same complicated clan documented in this Emmy-winning comedy series. Wed to much-younger Gloria (Sofia Vergara), Jay (Ed O'Neill) struggles to identify with his gay son, Mitchell. Meanwhile, Jay's daughter (Julie Bowen) juggles three kids and a husband (Ty Burrell) who acts like one.
I never watched any of the episodes of this show on t.v. but I heard such great things about it. However when I bought it, I thought it was gonna be one of those shows that I would end up watching the whole season in 1 day. This was not the case, it is slightly funny, but it had to many moments where the writers just tried to hard for a laugh. I ended up stopping after the 2nd disc, but I do plan on finishing, but am in no hurry.
The bad part was that I bought the 2nd season before I started watching the first season. It was slight let down. Hopefully when I do watch the rest of the 1st season I will grow to love it and even enjoy the 2nd season.
I bought "Modern Family", first season,
because I never was able to see it,
due to work .
I am glad I bought it because it is
very funny & entertaining. And it
gives me the background of the
whole series.
You won't regret purchasing the
"Modern Family" first season. The
laughs, einderful storylines make it
more than worth the purchase price!
