Movie synopsis
Skeet Ulrich (RIDE WITH THE DEVIL) portrays an investigator of paranormal activity who sees a mysterious phrase written in his own blood--"God is now here"--shortly before a little boy dies while saving his life with supernatural healing ability. Angus McFadyen (Orson Welles in CRADLE WILL ROCK and Peter Lawford in THE RAT PACK) plays an ex-college teacher who joins the quest to explain apparent miracles and fend off the inexorably encroaching dark side, along with an ex-cop (Marisa Ramirez). Hector Elizondo (CHICAGO HOPE) appears as a commiserating priest. ABC-TV ran six episodes before canceling the series, largely due to pre-emptions during the Iraq War, and seven additional shows, never broadcast, also appear in this compilation.

A Non-Preachy Jewel of the Supernatural

My favorite genre of television is sci-fi and/or the paranormal. I am highly critical, normally of any show that attempts to duplicate the X-Files. It seems that most paranormal shows borrow quite a bit from the Files, and it’s a rare show about the supernatural that differentiates itself from the pack. Having said all that, I heartily recommend ‘Miracles’ staring the vastly underrated Skeet Ulrich (the current star of the hit series; ‘Jericho.’)

The premise of the show is never full explained since it was canceled 6 shows into production by ABC despite critical acclaim. It essentially is about a small group of people dedicated to find the source of real supernatural miracles. Everything from possession, stigmata, ghosts, and clairvoyance is represented in a thinking-man’s presentation. Ulrich and Angus MacFayden are superb as the chief two investigators: Ulrich as a disillusioned Catholic priest on a mission to find answers and to understand who and what he is; MacFayden as the trained supernatural expert.

The original series had 13 episodes, but only 6 made it on the airwaves. For the fans of the one-year run, seeing an additional 7 first-class episodes is well-worth the price of the DVD boxset just by itself. “Miracles” avoids the pitfall of being too one-sided for or against religion: rather, we are left the impression that the miracles the team finds may or may not have come from God Himself. For fans of the supernatural, this show is a natural: a must buy. A one-year jewel, we may never find out the conclusion of the show since it suffered a premature burial.

If you loved 'Miracles', you'll love this set

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is such a great series that owning it on DVD is a must. And this boxed set is awesome! It has the entire series (13 episodes - 6 that aired, 7 that never did) on four discs, along with a handful of deleted scenes, a very cool half-hour interview with show co-creator Richard Hatem, a rough cut promo for the series/pilot, and, last but not least, commentaries on six of the episodes by Hatem and the respective director or producer. Unfortunately for us die-hard fans, there's no inclusion of the original pre-air pilot (which had a couple of small differences from the pilot that is on here), but that aside this set has everything you need to make it a must-have for your collection! Even the box/case is nice - black and slick with excellent promotional shots of our lovely Sodalitas Quarito gang :D

Miracles-The Complete Series (2005, DVD)

The DVD Series came packaged and in mint condition. Shipping was fast.

Miracles is a series about an organization, Sodalitas Quaerito, that investigates paranormal events. The main focus of this series however is Paul Callan trying to find out what he truly is, so to speak. When he was saved by a boy (the boy gave up his life to save him), Tommy, Paul begins a quest for the reason that event occured. The plot is complicated and very emotional at times.

The soundtrack is very nice and not to mention the directing. The movie is fast-paced, it doensn't drone on and on. It gets right to the point with a great amount of information.

I would recommened this for the sci-fi fan or just a regular tv watcher. It is rated 14+ I believe.

Miracles - an underated series.

This is an excellent and somewhat different tv series about a group of people investigating miracles, real and not so real. What I really enjoyed about this series is that the writers didn't assume the people watching this show needed to have things dumbed down, or endlessly explained. They figured that the viewers not only had brains, but might actually be entertained by not knowing the end of the episode by two miniutes into the show. The only thing I didn't like was that flashing of a bloody headed, yellow toothed character every so often, and I only didn't like that because it never got explained. So, if you want something a little different that makes you think, this may be the show for you. However, if you think this show is something like Touched by an Angel or the series about miracles hosted by the actor that played John-boy on the Waltons(I've forgotten his name), you're wrong. This show has some disturbing images, some violence, and in one instance a dream sequence where one of the characters is practically drowning in a rainstorm of blood.

Unjustly..under-rated gem!!!

I like the genre that this television show covers. The religious implications, the Catholic Churchs' investigations of miracles and so on.This series features some very fine acting and clever plotlines. Skeet Ulrich does a wondeful job and adds true depth and emotion to his character. There are some genuine shocks and this series is definitely geared to a mature audience. A nice little show that deserved more..
