Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 Web Cam

I bought three of these cameras based on the number of good reviews that I read beforehand. We basically use them for Skype and all three work perfectly well on XP and Windows 7. This camera also has a built-in mic that is also very effective. They work well in low-light conditions in fact the only issue that I can report is that sometimes I need to turn off my desk lamp as it causes burn-out (due to light being too bright) on my camera's transmitted picture. I'm pretty sure that there are better web-cams on the market but this one gives you a pretty good bang for your buck.

Good web cam. HD would be nicer but for the money this web cam is great. I needed this for a computer that is still running Windows XP Professional and it gets alot of compliments from people on the other end, also you can take profile pictures and post them on your favorite social network, and works in Skype but does not have as smooth a motion as an HD web cam, for the money it has a lot of bang.

This is a great web cam. I chose this for the Excellent backlight features and minimum lag. For the price you just cant find better. I'm sure the hd viewcams are superior, but for older pc's running Win Xp this is great. Trust me you wont be disappointed. If I had a dual core pc or laptop I would recommend the HD version. Overall Excellent webcam.

Got it for a nice price, and it works with my Mac Mini OS X V 10.6.8. The quality is nice for the no big deal things like Skype or dumb webcam pics. I'd recommend it for anyone who doesn't really care about a high-end webcam. ALSO, has a microphone in it, a plus for video calls.
