Product Information
Metal Arms is a third-person shooter starring a droid named Glitch on a mission to free his fellow robots from the tyrannical rule of General Corrosive and his evil android army. Taking place on the planet Iron Star, the game features 50 different missions spread across six distinct environments. Glitch is not your run-of-the-mill droid, however, so the seemingly insurmountable odds are well within reach. Glitch can fire off 18 different weapons, ranging from sniper rifles and rocket launchers to EMP grenades, drive four different vehicles, and collect a series of ability-enhancing power-ups.

Yet the biggest ace up his mechanical sleeve is the ability to jack into 12 types of droids and rewire their circuits. By sneaking up on an unsuspecting robot, Glitch can quickly attach a cable to its data port and then gain control. Players can then guide the robots, friend or foe, to access certain areas, activate items, interact with other robots, or to take a long stroll off a short catwalk. Once the robot is destroyed or moves out of range, control reverts back to Glitch and the mission continues. In addition to the single-player game, Metal Arms features competitive action for up to four robots in a choice of three multiplayer modes.

Quirky, colorful, and fun, but also aggravating and frustrating.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought Metal Arms after hearing it recommended from two different sources. I wanted to play it because I wanted to play a shooter that didn't subscribe to the tropes of modern shooters. I wanted a quirky, colorful world with colorful baddies and lots of fun guns with which to blow them to bits. That's all there, and I was glad of that. throughout the first chapter, the game was awesome, right up until the zombots show up. Then the game becomes hard. Very hard. One level has enemies that put themselves back together after being blown apart, that are very fast, and have obscenely damaging melee attacks. Then there are swarms of them. Another level has enemies that are essentially walking tanks, with miniguns, rocket launchers, and a whole lotta health. These could still be fun, but the game is very stingy with health, ammo, money, shops, upgrades, and most importantly, checkpoints. If your health is low when you hit a checkpoint, it will still be low every time you respawn. Therefore, levels can quickly turn into frustrating exercises in repetitive trial-and-error.

Some may denounce this review and say that finding the correct path through a group of enemies is a selling point. I can admit, testing your wits to find which enemies to kill and how with limited resources can be fun. However, I was in the middle of three different stressful projects, and I bought this game hoping to unwind with some silly run-and-gun fun. Being killed by the walking tank, which I could neither outrun nor outgun, for the fortieth time left me angry.

Is this a fun game? Yes, if you enjoy a difficult , challenging experience that will take several tries to get right. Take my advice, though: don't bother trying to play it to unwind from the stress of writing a research paper.

    Awesome fast paced game

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is one of my favorite shooters of all time. The bad guys are agressive and deadly, and the game is quite difficult. The only think I didn't like about it was the driving parts and the gun turret missions, since they are a little too difficult and you have to do them over and over. The other parts you have to do over and over also, but I consider them a good and worthwhile challenge. This game by now is nice and cheap, so pick yourself up one.

    Game is great

I've played this game before for the PS2. That is why I purchased it for myself. Great action with a metal droid like Glitch. Game works great and fun game play.

Metal Arms: glitch in the system PS2

Awesome game, but the language was very crude and totally unnecessary for the game. Lots of action and lots of adventure!
