Publisher's Note
A single mother discovers a bottle containing a deeply felt love letter on the shores of Cape Cod, launching her on a mysterious journey where she finds a man who restores her faith in love. Reprint.

Divorced and disillusioned about relationships, Theresa Osborne is jogging when she finds a bottle on the beach. Inside is a letter of love and longing to "Catherine," signed simply "Garrett." Challenged by the mystery and pulled by emotions she doesn't fully understand, Theresa begins a search for this man that will change her life. What happens to her is unexpected, perhaps miraculous-an encounter that embraces all our hopes for finding someone special, for having a love that is timeless and everlasting.... Nicholas Sparks exquisitely chronicles the human heart. In his first bestselling novel, The Notebook, he created a testament to romantic love that touched readers around the world. Now in this New York Times bestseller, he renews our faith in destiny, in the ability of lovers to find each other no matter where, no matter when...

While jogging along the Cape Cod shore, a thirtysomething single mother struggling to recover from a difficult divorce stumbles upon a half-buried bottle containing a touching love letter that sends her on an uncertain odyssey of self-discovery, renewal,

Review For: Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (1999, Paperback, Reissue)
Message in a Bottle launches a remarkable woman on a mysterious voyage of self-discovery and renewal when she finds a deeply-felt love letter hidden in a bottle. A letter that reawakens her belief that star-crossed lovers will find each other across time and space...... I've read every book that Sparks has written and by far this is his saddest, best piece. No wonder they made it into a movie. You will feel like you know the characters and their story will touche you even more than you can imagine.

RECOMMEND HIGHLY 5*s

Beautiful love story written and portrayed as only Nicholas Sparks can do. This is one of those books that you can't seem to put down. Keep the Kleenex close by, too! Read the book first, its better than the movie. If you enjoy Message in a Bottle, read The Notebook. They are definitely my two personal favorites by Sparks. And both have been made into excellent movies well worth renting.

Made a good read with some surprises also

Review For: Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (1999, Paperback, Reissue)
I have read other of his books. He is a good author. I did like this one as it told an interesting story of how 2 people meet. However, as not everything is out in the open, it leaves things to chance also. It really took quite a dramatic twist at the end which was a surprise & I have to admit that I was disappointed about that part. Overall, it was such a good book that it was hard to put down & I read it eagerly.

This is a romance story which changed my attitude

Review For: Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (1999, Paperback, Reissue)
This fine novelist takes you places where phyically you have never been and mentally you don't want to go but you read on because you want to know. You want to know what happened and what happens to the people in the book. I love the way he makes you care about them. They are so real, as if you know them personally and when life happens to them, you feel for them and with them.
This is a romance story which changed my attitude about ever reading a romance. I'll read more of Sparks' books and have some tissues standing by in case...

Oh, NO! Not again!

Review For: Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (1999, Paperback, Reissue)
I like, sort of, the way Nicolas Sparks writes. But I absolutely, positively abhor his endings. Why does he kill off his wonderful, best characters? I will not read another one of his books. I bought two of his novels, this one and A Bend something. And I'm giving them both away to someone who doesn't mind getting the serious let down! Why on earth does he do that? What a rip off! This is fiction! He doesn't have to break our hearts twice! Achchchhchk! Awful.
