| Protect your pet dogs from fleas, ticks and lice with the Merial Frontline Plus treatment. This fast-acting Merial dog treatment is formulated with Fipronil that spreads all over the body in about 24 hours. With more inert ingredients, this flea and tick remedy kills all stages of deer ticks (causing Lyme disease), brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, and lone star ticks. The (S)-methoprene in this Merial dog treatment effectively puts an end to the immature stage of ticks and fleas. Being waterproof, the Merial Frontline Plus remedy keeps your pet protected in rainstorms. So, go ahead and get this flea and tick remedy that prevents re-infestation. | |

I have bought Frontline for my pets for several years now. It gives continuous protection against fleas and ticks, and is systemic. Parasites die very quickly after biting. It is particularly effective against ticks, which can leave the mouthparts behind, causing discomfort and the risk of infection, if removed forcibly, but which just drop off if they die naturally.
Since it is administered as a liquid to the back of the neck, it is very easy to deliver - and indeed it is the only way I can deliver treatments to my cat.
I have previously bought it from the vet or the pet shop, and only recently realised I could get it much cheaper on Ebay, even allowing for postage to Spain.
Frontline for dogs is an OK product provided you have your ducks in a row. That meaning if not medicated properly and as part of an overall war against fleas, you may not be pleased with the result.
Our first experience with Frontline was not positive. There seemed to be little or no effect on the dogs - just as much scratching and flea bits as before; what we did not realize was that there were so many fleas elsewhere that the sheer number was overwhelming.
Also, the weight of the dog is important when determining how much of the product to dispense between the dog's shoulder blades. On the insert which came with the product, it provides a dosage per pound.
It is important that you weigh your dog and do the math to arrive at the right dosage. The 'generic' dosage seems appropriate for the middle of the weight range, but our dogs are at the top end of the weight range so the dosage indicated was too low.
We also have Shelties which are longhaired dogs so we had to trim back the hair around the application point so the product could reach the skin. And, we had to put the product on a little at a time so it would soak into the skin and not wick into the hair (where it does no good).
Since doing this, we have noticed a significant decrease in scratching and chewing in both of our dogs.
Frontline is good, but it is not a panacea if applied carelessly and not as a part of an overall 'war on fleas'. Purchasing the product in bulk, as we did through an eBay seller, allowed us the flexibility to dose the product based on the dog's true weight.
We always use Frontline as a flea/tick preventative to treat our dogs. I hear it's the best out there, although it's the only brand I have ever used on our pets. Seems to work great and I have witnessed it kill many ticks that try to get on our dogs from the backyard or from hiking on trails. It was a bad tick season this year and it held strong throughout. I highly recommend this great product!
We live in a very wooded area with LOTS of deer ticks! We have large amounts of Lyme disease cases here. Frontline Plus works wonderful! Highly recommended to all pet owners!
We have 4 small dogs that were covered with fleas after moving from Nevada to Florida . We tried different kinds of flea killer including professional flea dips and grooming . after 3 horrible months for our dogs we put on the Frontline Plus and within 3 days the fleas were gone and have stayed gone.
