Movie synopsis
In this survival-of-the-fittest teen comedy, high school is a dangerous jungle seething with teenagers who prey on each other like wild animals. The nonstop jokes are hilariously rewarding as they exaggerate adolescent vanity and satirize political correctness issues like race, class, and homosexuality. Here, the Plastics are the most popular girls in school. They wrote the rule book on Girl World, like always wearing pink on Tuesdays. And they're mean. So when pretty new girl Cady (Lindsay Lohan) arrives in school, the first thing they do is make fun of her. Then they try to win her over. Cady is torn between social cliques. She befriends the punky rebels Janis (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese). But the guy Cady wants to date is friends with the Plastics--Regina (Rachel McAdams), Gretchen (Lacey Chabert), and Karen (Amanda Seyfriend)--so she has to be resourceful. Problem is, the two groups hate each other. Just trying to fit in, Cady jumps through hoops for the Plastics and becomes a mean girl in the process. Though her transformation is radical, when the final act of meanness is done, she learns a few valuable lessons.SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE writer Tina Fey contributes the script and also stars as a teacher, quietly smirking at her own jokes throughout the antics. Directed by FREAKY FRIDAY's Mark Waters, MEAN GIRLS doesn't miss a beat, following the faithful formula of teen fare such as SIXTEEN CANDLES and HEATHERS. The soundtrack features songs by Blondie, Missy Elliot, Pink, The Donnas, and Janis Ian.

New York Times - Elvis Mitchell (04/30/2004)

10 out of 10, I HIGHLY reccomend it!

This movie is, without a doubt, one of the greatest movies ever made. I just saw it, and I laughed so much. Tina Fey is a GREAT screenwriter. I knew she'd written stuff for SNL before, but this really proved how funny she is. The movie plot is as follows... Cady is new, she'd been home schooled her whole life and lived in Africa. She ends up moving, and goes to an actual high school, befriended the outsiders. By a twist of fate, she meets the Plastics: The three most popular girls in school. They ask her to join them, and when the lead Plastic, Regina, turns against her, Cady does everything in her power to ruin Regina's life. It's a catty, funny, absolutely bitchy movie. Rachael McAdams is TALENTED, because she makes you hate her, which proves how great she can act. Lindsay Lohan's acting was excellent too! This is her FIRST movie outside of Disney, and it made me happy. Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, and Amy Poehler have great roles in this too.

Mean Girls is Wildly Funny & Rachel McAdams =)

Review For: Mean Girls (DVD, 2004, Widescreen Special Collector's Edition)

I was suckered into watching Mean Girls and thought I'd quickly be asking for 90 minutes of my life back... not so! This movie was surprisingly fun, humorous and wildly sarcastic. But then again - what would you expect from Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels? Lindsay Lohan - the pre partying / coke / craziness Lindsay Lohan - plays the role pretty well and this will probably be the best performance of her dying career (me complimenting her is VERY rare - herbie?!!). But the star is Rachel McAdams who is sensationally cute and very funny. The movie has a pretty great cast - Amy Poehler and Tina Faye are also excellent. But the movie's bright spot is the writing and the wit. Super sarcastic and pokes fun at pop-culture... its just ironic that Lindsay Lohan is the one doing it becaues pop-culture has sucked her away. Buy Mean Girls - Its deliciously mean!

Plastics are Real!

Mean Girls was written by Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live. The movie is about suffering through high school. Lindsay Lohan portrays a girl from Africa trying to fit into the new school her parents enrolled her in. Although Lohan is from Africa, any person who feels like an outsider will be able to relate to the movie.

High School Teenager Movie

In this movie, Mean Girls, the queen bee is Regina played by Rachel McAdams. She is always worried about her weight. She hangs with a click of girls that try to rule the school. Interesting techniques on the tricks they play amongst themselves. Cady is the new girl who has been home schooled by her parents. The click called the Plastics are interested in Cady as she is really pretty and smart. An entertaining movie on what the teens are up to. (PG-13)

Real Life

Review For: Mean Girls (DVD, 2004, Widescreen Special Collector's Edition)

The movie diffenetly wasnt what I expected. I seen interveiws on TV with the cast and behind the scenes footage, and I thought "Hey this is gonna be a pretty cool movie". And it was. I thought it did summerize what every teenage girl goes through during high school. Everyone wants to be popular and wants to fit it but in the end it not worth it. You have to follow your own path. This movie really shows that. This is one of Lindsay Lohan's best movies. It was very well writen and directed. I loved it!
