demolition derby at it's best for gamers

the game is a destruction derby game that can be played in 3d.the game comes with two pairs of those red & blue glasses.the 3d effect can be adjusted from 0-10,whcih means you do not have to play it in 3d.the game is in blac and white.i think it looks great visual and for me the destruction does'nt get boring at all.there’s a great soundtrack and the lone narrating voice echoes about the room and suits both the noir and derby scheme. The unfortunate part is that you’ve heard it all within the first hour.
Mayhem 3D is a fun, stable, entertaining game with more than enough content to satisfy. The 3D aspect isn’t really a big deal and doesn’t have the same impact as recent stereoscopic 3D titles, there are a few hiccups in the animations and control, and the repetitiveness is obvious. The developers do what they can to spice things up with the aforementioned features, and those various events are all well designed and implemented, but after doing an event once, you’ve got it. There’s not much else to talk about. And I remain reserved on the noir design choice, because I’m just not sure it fits. But in the end, this really is a lot of fun, and the fun doesn’t falter often, so if you’ve been looking for a capable derby game, this is it.

lacking more than just colour, but still great fun! Overall,an average game

firstly, i brought mayhem as iv been looking for a destruction derby game for years, and after playing the original destruction derby series, demotition racer and flatout games, iv got pretty high expectations for this game.
starting with the bad, this game needs colour the use of only red, white and black colours is `lazy` production in my opinion, to own a ps3, sound system and buying myself a nice tv i want the full colours and details but its not just my want, as i think the game needs it as, some areas on certain races, feels like your driving with the sun in your eyes due to the lack of colour and can distract from the excitement and also means game graphics is very limited.

sadly the 3D is very slight, even at full strength and feels no different from racing on normal view, also i felt it would of given me a headache if i played more than a few races, as i felt like i was straining after the first race.

the game also needs more options, as it feels very basic, the one and same song plays over on the menu screen, all races feel rushed due to being timed so you cant really get out there and just enjoy a derby. rather than the feel of keeping the action going you simply feel rushed to finish.
this is where options would work, have the main game and give the player options in expedition. ie turn off extras and race with raw grit and keep the extras like boost etc, for another race to keep things exciting that way. also what bout create a ride? simple ideas!

the good points with MAYHEM 3D is although the lack of colour is a hinderance you do forget bout it during racing as you aim for your target,
there are plenty of rides to pick, with different strengths so you can aid or hinder your race by choosing the stronger or weaker rides and also different styles to choose, from cars, sedans to pick up trucks and more.

theres also a good selection of both tracks and events, from the simple to more complex.

the game is really fun but feels like its missing soo much, just too basic.
so if your needing a demolition derby style game, this is really worth a go, but i wouldn`t recommend paying more than £25, its a good game for this amount.

however, another option to wet your destructive taste buds is apocalypse riders, it can be found really cheap and compared to MAYHEM, has awesome graphics, great game play, limited but good customizing options and really brings fun back to gaming, now this is definately worth a go.
