Personally, I feel the Mathews DXT bow is the next best thing to Z7's and Heli-M.
1. The axle to axle is near the same.
Few others are shorter axle to axle. (Z7Extreme for example)
2. Is as light or lighter by comparison then many Mathews models.
3. Very competitive on all levels with speed and accuracy.
4. Out there are some really nice DXT's for sale reasonable.
5. Parts if needed are available. Even used components.
6. Nice used DXT's are the best bang for the buck by Mathews if you think my opinion is viable.
I own 2 DXT's, I Z7 Extreme, and 3 Martins.
Just between you and me... Mathews are great bows, but if you like to save a little money and still wish to own a great bow.
**Check out Martin's... I love them for various reasons. (Cost, adjustability, and different design features to name a few.
Shoot every bow you can... You will find the right one for you. Learn to tune them properly. You'll appreciate the results.
I have only bought 2 new bows. 1 30 years ago and the other 2 yrs. ago.
Call me cheap or frugal... That's okay... I feel the used bows have experience, character, and most any bow will last if reasonably cared for and not abused.
I have passed other bows to friends in hopes of getting them interested in archery and hunting.
Whatever works for you is my main opinion... These work for me and I have yet to be disappointed.
I love the bow it was as listed like new .The DXT BOW is the best bow on the market . small and accurate.Im glad i was able to get one before the 2011 season. Mathews has discontinued this model so it is going to be hard to find later this year.
I'm new to bow hunting and hear Mathews is the best of the best so I got the Mathews DXT with G5 optix and drop away rest all for just $700. The bow looks and feels great I haven't shot it yet since I just unwrapped it but I have very high hope for this bow. Super excited!!!
I bought a used Mathews Drenalin bow. It is lightweight, shoots quietly and in very good condition. I bought it because I out grew the Mathews I currently own. After reveiwing what was needed to upgrade my existing bow to a longer draw length and more draw weight, it was less expensive to buy a used one of similar age.
I have owned a Mathews bow since 1997, it was the Z-light, one of Mathews first bows.. I never have had, the first problem. Mathews continues to make improvement's, that I like. I have shoot a lot of different kids of bow's. I got the Mathews Hyperlite Bow, because it's the lightest bow in the Mathews line up, smooth draw, solid, quiet, short axle to axle, easier to use in a treestand, or my double bull blind. The DXT, was going to be my second choice if I had not got the Hyperlite.
