Product description

Product Information
Martin D-35 DreadnoughtThe D-35 was introduced in 1965 in response to a shortage of Brazilian rosewood stock large enough to finish 2-piece Dreadnought-sized backs. The resultant three-piece back - triangular center wedge and matching outer wings" - follows a centuries-old tradition among European and Spanish luthiers of building multi-piece backs. Martin's three-piece back design is especially striking. Extra wide bindings, bound ebony fingerboard and ebony bridge add to the distinctiveness of this model; but the appeal of the D-35 is more than just visual. Tonally, the three-piece back produces a particularly strong bass, making the D-35 ideal for rhythm playing. To accentuate the treble, Martin uses lighter 1/4" top braces which give the D-35 its characteristic warmth and balance."

Great guitar

Created: 02/10/11
I had been researching acoustic guitars to find what would be for me a "dream" guitar. After looking at three different manufacturers: Gibson, Taylor, and Martin I went on eBay to see what was out there. I ended up purchasing a 1976 Martin D-35 acoustic guitar in pristine condition It was obvious that the original owner had given it lots of TLC. I bought it from the son who had inherited it. He had excellent pictures and a vivid description of the instrument. It was my first experience buying or selling on eBay and it could not have turned out any better, because I got a quality instrument at a fair price. An added bonus for me was to find out after I had won the bid that the last guitar Elvis played in concert was also a 1976 Martin D-35.

I got an incredible deal on this amazing instrument. I have always used entry level Taylor's (110 and 114ce) both nice guitars with nice sound. I didn't realize an acoustic could sound so good until I took this Martin out of the case and played it. WOW!! Thanks for the help eBay! - Teepee720

My new Sradavarious guitar

Created: 02/07/11
a beautiful vintage martin in astoundingly great condition-its aged body wood bears the patina of a fine vintage instrument and its sound resonates like the taste of a fine vintage french wine. When I started bidding on it,I didn't plan to spend as much as I did and as it had a 7-day return policy,I figured I could always return it if I had second thoughts.but after giving it a couple of strums,I said to myself,"This baby is mine!"(and that's before I put new strings on it)
It is such a beautiful looking and sounding instrument that I fell like as a player ,I have stepped into a whole new realm, like going from black and white to color,or from two dementions to three or even more.It compliments my voice like no other guitar I have ever played. Now when I play I feel as if I am playing my own version of a Stadavarious violin. Now if I just don't leave it in a cab somewhere like the people who own Stadavarious' seem to do,I'll be okay!

You can't be the tone and mellow sound from a Martin. The d-35 has a nice low response. It has been well worth waiting for the opportunity to purchase one.
