This is a wonderful book that belongs on the shelf of every Mandrell fan and in the kitchen of every cook around the world who likes good food. I love the way that Matthew Dudney (Barbara's eldest son) incorporated both delicious recipes from the family and pictures and family stories into one book. Once again we see that gifted Mandrell talent coming forth out of the next generation. No doubt there is talent on the Dudney side , as well. He shares recipes and stories from his grandparents, aunts Louise and Irlene, then girlfriend/now wife, Leigh Ann, his parents, and his own creations. He has even included some borrowed recipes from other family members, friends and has holiday recipes, too. And much more. This book even has recipes for wild game! Along with the recipes he adds family stories that go with the recipes. If you haven't already purchased this book I'd recommend doing so soon. You'll be glad you did. And why not consider getting more than one. They make great gifts! ***ATTENTION MEN***How about impressing your lady with a Champagne Quail dinner or Easy Orange Duck after your hunt is over? Maybe Roast Goose or Marinated Venison.***ATTENTION LADIES*** Want to know how Barbara keeps her man happy? Try fixing your guy Ken's Favorite Meatloaf. And the kids might just clean their room if you whip up some of Barbara's Kid Delight. Hurry now, before someone else puts in the high bid! You can thank me later; after dinner and when the dishes are done. Enjoy!!
If you ever had an interest in Barbara Mandrell, you would enjoy this book. I watched her television show as a child, and enjoyed her autobiography as well. The recipes are good and there are a lot of wonderful photos and family stories inside. Any fan needs to have this book in their collection.
