Magellan RoadMate 500 Automotive GPS Receiver

I bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

I recently moved to California and was having trouble getting around. The Magellan sure cured that. Just put in the address or intersection after entering the city and it will give you verbal directions to within 20 feet of your destination.You can save addresses too. It has a Destinations category that lists grocery stores, ATM machines, banks, department stores and many more in the area you're searching. If you want to change the route, just make your turn and it will re-route you. Couldn't get around half as well without it. I find it makes my journey safer too because it alerts me to turns well in advance so I can be in the proper turn lane when it comes up. Love it!!

As stated in title, I have the 300 model, not 500; however, it is fantastic for the price! I can only imagine the 500 being even better. I've used it in different states and it has gotten me around very well (try downtown Washington DC and Baltimore :)). Voice navigation is excellent, graphic screen is very easy to read, programming and extracting nav points is very easy. Highly recommend Magellan!

Recived the GPS unit one month age it look like a new unit in box, I have not been able to get the unit on line still trying. The unit can only be load with XP or windows 98 I have Vista. looking for someone with XP to try to load unit.

This is the worst GPS ever. It crashes all the time, tech support sucks. There are a million problems with it. Make sure you visit google maps before using one of these devices. Here you can read all about how much they don't work here:
