Magellan RoadMate 2035 Automotive GPS Receiver

needed a new gps, had a magellan in the past so stuck with the same brand. Features are good and user friendly but the touch screen is horrible! The reverse arrow would hardly work and wouldn't register half of what you type in! This particular model needs some work in the r&d department! I am personally going to replace it soon with a better model, very frusterating to use!

I have used Magellan GPS devices before so the controls are familiar to me from the start. Traffic alerts worked but is not available everywhere. The closer I was to expressways or urban locations the more the traffic alerts received a signal. I drive 18 miles to work and it received traffic alerts about a third of the time. I am satisfied with the performance. I would buy another one. I also upgraded the software for free at the Magellan website. Map upgrades do not appear to be free but it has the current map so not an issue this year.

We have tried many other makes of GPS, and found this one responds fastest and most accurate. Others like the Garmin take a long time to receive signal, but this one picks up the signal in literally a few seconds on the road. Looking up for department stores and restaurants are very easy and info is quite up to date. But, the best thing I like about it is the Lifetime Traffic feature. It helps you to pick the most convenient road with least busy traffic to get from point A to point B. Suggested improvement would be that it automatically turns on the "avoid traffic" feature without doing it manually. But this one has to be manual control to select "avoid traffic" it won't take over your preference. Another thing that I like in other Roadmate but misses in this one is that estimate arrival time--you, again, has to push a button to see it--unlike the older one which displays it on the main screen. Overall a great trustworthy GPS.

I ordered the Magellan as I had a similar one prior….Got a new Garmin and do not like as much as my old Magellan…Display is great…A bit non-touchy with the touch screen but fast/ accurate and ding dong…warn just as you should turn (in case no road sign) definitely great value…Easy use…I love it!

This is the identical Magellan Roadmate that I had in my new car that was stolen. Upon buying yet another new vehicle, I chose to purchase this Magellan Roadmate in place of spending $50.00/mo for the included GPS Program. I had used it extensively in my other car before the theft and found it very helpful.
