A classic masterpiece of the pc gaming arts.

Review For: Mafia (PC, 2002)
I can't say enough about this game. I wear fedoras, smoke cigars, like nice cars and even nicer dames. I like shootin' my guns and creating civil unrest. My name's Tommy Angelo. X-taxi driver, MAFIA Enforcer! Yeah! If you like the Gangster genre, this game shines. It really puts you in the mood to do something criminal.....in a fun way. Read the reviews on-line, praise, praise and more praise. Christ, I hear the "Parking Lot" calling me! =D

Long Overdue

Yeah, Yeah I know this games old but I never had an XBOX when Mafia came out. Anyway's this game was awesome! I loved playing every minute of it from start to finish. As Tommy Angelo you tell your past history of the Salieri Family to Detective Norman for protection. The graphics, game play and audio are all high quality considering it's over three years old and with over twenty missions, free roam and race mode this game gives you plenty to do. The bottom line: A fan of gangster games? Not a fan of gangster games? It doesn't matter, everyone should have this one. You can snatch a new copy for $10 or get a high quality used one for less, got mine for $7.77 S+H included. I can't wait for the Godfather to come out, I just hope Electronic Arts doesn't screw it up!

MAFIA (XBOX)

THIS GAME IS HIGHLY ENTERTAINING! IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE 30/40'S WHEN THE MOB RULED THE UNDERWORLD. THERE IS AN OPEN ENDED/ESCULATORY STYLE GAME, BUT ALSO A FREE-RIDE AND A RACING MINIGAME WHICH OPENS MORE AND MORE WITH MISSIONS COMPLETED. THE CARS ARE VERY COOL (NOT REAL FAST, BUT COOL), AND IT HAS THE MUSIC OF THE TIME AS A BACKGROUND TO ALL THE MISSIONS. THEY DO A VERY, VERY GOOD JOB TAKING YOU BACK TO THE HEY-DAY WITH IT'S RICH ATMOSHERE AND GAMEPLAY. I FIND THE FREE-RIDE EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING W/ THE BLACK METAL CAR.... RUNNING OVER MOBSTERS NEVER GETS OLD. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN THE AVERAGE GAME, THEN MAFIA IS FOR YOU!!!

PS2 version, just OK
Created: 11/19/10
PC version of this game is my favorite. The game itself is just excellent. However, I was not impressed by PS2 version. Switching to map is very uncomfortable and you cannot see the car and the real road in that moment. So you actually stop the game to look at the map. And each time you do this the music starts from the beginning, and as you have to use the map very frequently you end up listening the same part of music all the time.
