Product Information
Born the son of a poor immigrant, Vito is a beaten down Italian American who is trying to secure his piece of the American Dream. Looking to escape the life of poverty that consumed his childhood, Vito is soon swayed by the lure of power and wealth that a life of Organized Crime can bring.

A petty criminal his whole life, Vito, along with his childhood friend, Joe, will descend into the world of Organized Crime. Together, they will work to prove themselves to the Mob as they try to make their names on the streets of a cold and unforgiving city.

Mafia 2 immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940's / early 1950's scenario. The game engages you in a cinematic Hollywood movie experience in a living, breathing city, fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative.

The Collector's Edition features a collectible SteelBook Casing, access to the in-game downloadable Made Man Pack, an artbook, the Mafia II Orchestral Soundtrack and a map of Empire Bay.

    Great game

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
    Created: 07/31/11
Amazing Game Love it Love It.. The game is set in the 1940-50s era of Empire Bay, a fictional city based on New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Detroit.[7][8] There are 30-40 vehicles in the game (45 with DLC) as well as licensed music from the era.[9]

Many firearms from the previous return, such as the Thompson submachine gun and Colt 1911, as well as a pump-action shotgun (though it was changed from a Winchester Model 12 to a Remington 870). New WWII-era weapons like the MP 40, the M3 submachine gun, the MG 42 and the Beretta Model 38 also appear in the game.

Interacting with objects in the environment involves two action buttons- a standard action and a "violent" action (for example, when stealing a car, the player may choose to either pick its lock or break the window glass), used in context-sensitive situations. A map is included as in the original Mafia game. The checkpoint system has been completely overhauled.[10] New controls include a cover system that allows the player to hide behind objects (such as generators, walls and large crates) to shoot enemies, rather than just using a crouch while behind an object.

It has been stated by 2K Czech that the game's cutscenes are created by the game engine, in real-time, rather than pre-rendered cutscenes. For example if the player is riding in a car and a cut scene starts, the player will be driving the same car and if the car is damaged, that will appear in the cut scene.[11]

The game has three different in game radio stations, Empire Central Radio, Empire Classic Radio and Delta Radio, with licensed music, news, and commercials. The radio stations includes music from different genres including rock and roll, big band, rhythm and blues, doo-wop, among others with licensed songs by Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers, Dean Martin, Little Richard, Muddy Waters, Buddy Holly & The Crickets, Bing Crosby, Bill Haley & His Comets, The Chordettes, Bo Diddley, Rick Nelson, Eddie Cochran, The Champs, The Drifters, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, The Andrews Sisters, among others.

Excellent return of a franchise with great promise!

    Created: 08/23/10
Mafia II is an excellent return of a franchise with great promise. Vito and his associates are memorable characters in a city bursting with subtle visual details and violent undertones. The story pulls no punches, neither glorifying nor demeaning the difficult lives its protagonists lead--just presenting them with brutal honesty and letting you reach your own conclusions. After the 15-or-so hours it might take you to gun through Vito's story, it's hard not to come away with the sense that there should have been more to do in this beautiful city. Yet while you might be disappointed with what Mafia II doesn't do, it's hard to be disappointed by what this excellent game does do: deliver fun shoot-outs and pockets of shocking brutality in a world you're delighted to be a part of.

    The Good
    Fantastic action set pieces
Shooting and hand-to-hand combat are both highly satisfying
Empire City is beautiful and stuffed with period detail
Brutal, involving story populated with interesting, well-acted characters.

    The Bad
Not enough to do in the open world
Too much time spent on mundane tasks.

Really Nice! Is like playing a Mafia Movie! A++++

    Created: 11/10/10
It takes players even deeper into the Mafia with a mature and exciting experience that allows players to explore the gameworld as we wish and immerses us in it like never before. It includes a complete gangster movie experience, a wide variety of combat—including vehicular—a mood setting soundtrack and much more. I recommend this game to the lovers of "the Godfather" and the Mafia theme...

You'll enjoy the story! Guaranteed! =)

    Fun game

    Created: 10/06/10
A very great game! This mafia game based in america offers you the entire state of new york. The world is yours, rob a gun shop... or buy from it. Run from the cops... or pay your fine, it's up to you. The story line is good but not great, but all of the game play, and action make up for it.

Few bugs but nothing big, sometimes the cops cant get you because you're "hiding" on the roof of a car.

    Anyway, great game 4.3/5

MAFIA II "Killing the old-fashioned way"

    Created: 01/05/11
I actually bought this game for my son,and therefore I am listening to his review and critique. First,he was pretty excited to receive the poster, which came in the game's inserts,of EMPIRE BAY-the ficticious city from MAFIA 11. Now.he has ALL the Xbox shooting games[Call of Dutys,Black ops,Halos,Kill all Humans,Red Death Redemption-ETC- you name it]-But,he says what sets this game apart is the "face to face" combat, using pistols and shotguns, the "old-fashioned"weapons.This game is set in what appears to be the late60s early 70s,cool cars, funny ties, and the mafia is just like "The Godfather"or "Scarface"- It's rated M- so no little kids game, but if your son or daughter likes to blast things up close w/shotguns-this is the game!!
