Tom(Patrick Dempsey) loves his life, until he realizes he also loves his best friend Hannah(Michelle Monaghan). But when Hannah gets engaged to a dashing Scotsman and asks Tom to be her made of honor, Tom faces hostile bridesmaids, bridal showers, and bad hair days, all in an effort to pull off the perfect wedding and steal the bride. He's a maid of honor with a plan.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE - PATRICK DEMPSEY AND THE LEAD ACTRESS WERE WONDERFUL TOGETHER . REAL ON-SCREEN CHEMISTRY . THE STORY ALTHOUGH I AGREE THAT IT ISN'T TOTALLY UNIQUE IS A WONDERFUL STORY THAT KEEPS THE VIEWER INTERESTED THROUGH OUT .
THE CASTING WAS FLAWLESS. AND I LOVED SEEING THE GREAT DIRECTOR- THE LATE SYDNEY POLLACK CAST AS PATRICK'S CHARACTERS FATHER IN THE FILM. I LIKE THIS FILM ALOT AND AFTER SEEING IT ONCE I HAD TO OWN IT. IT IS A GREAT MOVIE, VERY FUNNY AND I LOVED IT WHEN THE MOVIE MOVED TO SCOTLAND FOR THE SECOND HALF. IT WAS VERY ENJOYABLE.
AND LETS NOT FORGET HER FINANCE' THAT WONDERFUL ACTOR (KEVIN MCKIDD) WHO STARRED IN THE HBO SERIES "ROME" - IT WAS NICE SEEING HIM - PLAYING BASKETBALL WITH PATRICK DEMPSEY - BUT I DON'T WANT TO GIVE AWAY ANYTHING - WATCH IT - IT'S NOT TOO GIRLY THAT THE GUYS WON'T BE ABLE TO GET A KICK OUT OF SEE THIS MOVIE TOO.

Good, but not original

I wasn't expecting much from it, it just looked like another rip off of a hundred other romantic comedies. I was very surprised that I liked it the entire way through and it kept my interest the whole time! Although I enjoyed the movie, it was not an original idea. The one thing I did really enjoy about it was that this wasn't a sad girl trying to get the guy like many other movies like this are, it was shown through the guy's perspective which isn't quite as over done.

I won't give out any details you don't already see in the trailer for the movie: Patrick Dempsy's character is great with women and his best friend is a successful intelligent woman. She goes to Scotland on business and Patrick's character realizes he has actually fallen in love with her now that shes gone. She comes back and he is ready to profess his love but there's one problem: she met someone else and is getting married! So now he is her "maid of honor" and has to try and stop the wedding. Like I said, not really an original idea but it is MUCH funnier and more interesting than most of the romantic comedies I have seen. Especially with him being maid of honor, its really hilarious.

If you are looking for an original movie that hasn't been done before then this is not for you. But if you enjoy romantic comedies and want a good laugh this one is definitely worth seeing.

A+ Movie!

This movie has a bit of everything in it.There are quite a few funny parts in this movie, that will make you want to rewind to watch it again.Patrick Dempsey's character will have you laughing!It truely shows that when you are in love, what extremes you will do to get that person!It just goes to show that maybe the one for you is the one that has been right in front of you, sometimes it takes losing that person to realize what you had, to help you know what you really want. I was glued to watching this movie from the begining to the end.A great romantic comedy & a Cinderella ending. Would definitely buy this movie, even though I have already rented it!Will have you laughing, and very original funny scenes!

Chick Flick

This is the typical chick flick with a predictable ending. Patrick Dempsey is easy on the eyes, and there is a lot of comedy, so it isn't just a boy-meets-girl movie. You get to follow the 2 main characters through a brief review of how they met, and back to the present when she asks him to be her Maid of Honor. Definitely worth a look.
