Product description
Product Information
Sony's acclaimed MLB series returns to PS3 with several new additions designed to enhance the experience for baseball fans. "The Road to the Show" career-style progression system now lets you decide how much of the game you want to watch as you guide your created athlete from AA to Spring Training to the big leagues. You can also call games from behind the plate as catcher, deciding which pitches should be thrown and where to position yourself to reduce the likelihood of passed balls. Those embarking on a complete 162-game season will be able to participate in the All-Star Futures Game as well as the Home Run Derby, with the latter making a return to the series as a separate play mode. Online play has been retooled to allow for smoother connections and new season leagues complete with stat tracking, trades, and 40-man rosters. Other tweaks include changes to the ball physics, artificial intelligence, throwing meters, animations, camera angles, and various other presentation enhancements.

Baseball games aren't what they used to be!

MLB '10: The Show is an excellent product that all sports fan should try. I have been an avid gamer for over 20+ years and have been really dissapointed by the poor games that have been released over the last 10 years or so. I tried The Show series on and off up to last year and I just couldn't find myself to purchase it. I felt that it was a tweak away and the graphics/ presentation could use alot of work. I have found that this baseball game is truly unique graphically and has an overwhelming presentation. Players look similar to their live counterparts and most manurism/batting stances are eerily accurate. Josh Hamilton for example, picks away at his face and shrugs in between pitches just like if you were watching a real game. Nick Swisher of the Yankees always has a smile on his face whether he strikes out or he hits a bomb. Details like this are what sets this product apart. Multiple jerseys/ stadiums/ and All-time players/ and batting intros (music) are also unique. The user friendly design is easily welcomed and didnt seem challenging at all. For example it took me only a few minutes to download my favorite players intro songs onto the game and set them up with their real life tunes. AWESOME!! I don't really care for the on-line play because of the cheaters. (Browsing the on-line interface, one will notice how many players have been kicked of for cheating! LOL. But all in all the on-line set-up is above standard and is a nice way to play your friends across the country. I felt like the pitching needed work and that the ball in play was a bit slow. I also would have like better home run trots. (Looks corny when players round the bases with their hand on their helmets because it doesnt look like they are even touching their helmet. Players tend to look a little too square(muscular) than they really are. But that is being nitpicky and I will take this title over any other that I have seen made. I give this game two thumbs up! Highly recommend for any casual or hardcore gamer!

Best baseball graphics I've ever seen

Overall, this is probably the best baseball game ever made. The graphics are second to none. Between the authenticity of the stadiums, the players and the player movements, its like watching a real game. However, the one thing they did not fix is the fact that its still way too hard to hit on any level above "Veteran". I mean you can guess the pitch and location and time your swing perfectly and still ground out. Obviously that's going to happen from time to time, but it seems to happen all the time in this game. Also, the computer's defense is beyond ridiculous. It's near impossible to get a ground ball out of the infield. Forget trying to shoot a ball through the 1st or 3rd base hole. The 2B or SS will make an unbelievable diving stop every time. Same goes for groundballs up the middle. The one thing they did fix for this year is that its easier to hit a ball into the gaps. In last year's game, the outfielders would run everything down.
Again, this is one of the best (if not the best) baseball game ever made, but if you're looking for a game that's easy to play, look somewhere else

MLB '10: The Show (Playstation 3)

MLB 10: The Show is set again to provide fans with a first-rate baseball experience via even more features and modes destined to quicken the heart, raise the stakes, and hurl you further into a true MLB baseball experience. The long awaited Home Run Derby leads the deep features list in MLB 10: The Show. Fully implemented in the season modes and available as a stand alone feature, Home Run Derby follows the current MLB rules. The MLB All-Star Futures Game is also available within season modes in its correct timeframe, as well as fully functional online leagues.

For players who idolize Joe Mauer, the new "Catcher Mode" gives the ability to call the game as the catcher, select pitches, and be the ultimate field general. Five new Minor League stadiums are introduced, as well as a selection of classic parks available on the PS3 for the first time. Online multiplayer has vastly improved this year to bring more of that competitive fire out amongst friends. Along with the core online league play, MLB 10 The Show now offers fully functional online season leagues! MLB 10 also offers daytime transitional lighting, a newly added "Movie Maker" menu giving the user the ability to select multiple replays to add to and edit a single movie, and 11 new stadiums.
