|Set ten years after the tumultuous events from the original Lost Planet, this sequel finds the formerly frozen world of E.D.N. III undergoing a dramatic transformation. What was once an inhospitable arctic wasteland has given way to tropical jungles and arid deserts. Yet the gigantic, insect-like creatures known collectively as the Akrid have also adapted to the changes. Lost Planet 2's action is viewed from a third-person perspective like its predecessor, as you engage the Akrid on foot or from within a more expansive variety of armored "Vital Suits."|
You'll also choose from an assortment of customizable weapons, from machine guns and rocket launchers to sniper rifles and laser guns. A single-player campaign spanning six episodes has you controlling a series of characters from their unique perspectives, and a four-player cooperative mode has your team fighting for its survival against the Akrid swarms. Competitive multiplayer modes are also included, with a maximum of 16 players supported in a choice of game types.

This game is highly addictive once you level up your character and and eventually unlock more weapons and character skins!!! Great story although a little short. I felt this game was a little rushed and could of used more time but that dosent stop the fun of this game at all! I found this game highly addictive on online multiplayer. When you first start playing online, beware... people will kill you without mercy. Get familiar with the game and have fun through campaign mode and make friends with higher leveled people. Try to watch how higher leveled players fight and kill others. I found this key. Also, get as familiar with the maps online as you can. Once you know where all the good hiding spots and best weapons are, it can be a breeze!
You will tend to find more peopele playing under ranked match. This is where you can really level up your status from Recruit to eventual Overlord. Be careful though, the more dieing and less kills you receive, the more demotions you will receive. Under player match, that is where all the fun is. Create your own match! You will get to use all weapons, all VSs, and get to see the different weather and day/night patterns of each map! Not too many players doing player matches at night but during the day you can bet there will be more of a chance to play player matches from others. I found player match mode to be much more creative and fun rather than the usual 15-20 minute ranked matches where the maps never really change and you have your usual hotspots of weapons, VSs, and hiding places.
Under downloadable content, you will want to purchase Rush Arena as soon as possible. I found this method easier to level up my character and get all weapons and skins faster rather than going through Campaign mode. I was able to obtain level 1-50 in just 3 hours playing nonstop Rush Arena facing the Gordiant (1st Akrid in the beginning). When the second mission comes up after you have defeated the first Cateogry G, press select and start. This will take you back to the Rush Arena menu. A combined 7 hours nonstop with an occasional purchases of new weapons, emotes, and nombre de guerra kept me able to to keep fighting the same creature over and over again without getting bored due to the new weapon purchases and emotes.
I also found it much easier to jump in a VS that is down below located next to the cliff where you first start out jogging or running from. This VS is lying on its back face up with two lights shining outwards. Use that and start fly around looking for amo on previous out-of-order VSs laying around. Trust me, if you want to get past this thing faster you are going to need this VS and you get more career points and boxes with it! Once you got that down, just fire away at the Gordiant's glowing spikes on his back until they are gone, then aim for the legs and keeping firing at them until two legs are destroied on both sides (Maximum legs can fall off for both sides), and get those boxes!!! At the end when the Gordiant takes his final breath and all the boxes fly out of him, USE THE VS TO COLLECT ALL BOXES! This saves time and you have a better chance of getting them all before they disappear!
Trust me, this gets repetative. If you have the time and patience, my advice about Rush Arena will save you a lot of time. In just two days over a span of a combined 7 hours, I started at level 1 and ended up at level 80 with all character parts, all weapons, all emotes, and half the nombre de guerra.
I give it a average rating because I could think of more ways to make it better. Like having a multiplayer for the players on the same system, not that I dont like the online but all the other greats have it ( Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty). Also they could have added a firefight like game mode where waves of enemies keep coming with increased difficulty. But I cant say all bad about it, I do like the third person and gameplay. The grafics are very good the only thing is when they zoom in on the characters they look fuzzy and i've got 1080p HD. The story line is good except for the fact that you dont get to play as the snow pirates very long. I do like the custimization of the characters, I think it was a nice addition from the first one where you have to play as one specific character. All in all though I would recommend this game to those who like third person shooters and for fans of the first, just dont pay over $30 for it.
I am a big third person shooter fan. From the Gears of war series and the Ghost Recon games. I have heard mixed reviews about this game but decided to buy the 1st one as well. My reaction is that if you like 3rd person shooters this is a definite buy. If you play mostly 1st person shooters like Call of Duty this game may be difficult to get into. I love the game and the campaign isn't as good as the first one but I enjoy co-op story mode online.
This game is amazing. The visuals and effects of your weapons are very satisfying. There are a few different types of mechs in the game, that you can even customize by grabbing a huge gun. You can attack/detach weapons to 1-2 sides of the mechs, or just wield them yourself. The bosses are gigantic. One boss is so big, that you can actually become swallowed alive and fight him within his stomach as if it's it's own level/map! I was blown away by that, and the bosses ability. This game is not too easy or too hard. It's just right. You already get a computer AI team, but that can be replaced with a friend or friends. I can't wait to try this out on system link with my cousin. This game really shines when you use teamwork.
Good fast paced shooter game. Play as a Nevec soldier or and Ex-Nevec soldier or even a snow pirate in the many chapters and episodes within the campaign. Multiplayer is also a great aspect of the game. Activate terminals while fighting for your life. Also your character is fully customizable, from the color of his/her pants to the gun in his/her hand. I definitely give this game a 5/5.
