These cars are great fun for all ages! I have 9&5 year old girls and 7&3 year old boys who all fight over whose turn it is to drive. I ended up buying another one. A few caveats here; they do require some work and some upgrades to run a decent amount of time. Example, the original battery only runs the car for ~5min. The LiPo battery upgrade extends that run time ~X3 and cost ~$40. There are other upgrades that will extend the run time; wheel bearings, BB2 Atomic motor, the list can go on. Another good thing about these little cars is that they are OK to run inside too.The bottom line here is that there must be a teenager/parent/adult around that enjoys working on/spending money on these.
Though this is my first decent RC truck, I believe it doesn't any better than this.
It's super fast, cool suspension, nice radio range and the car battery lasts for at least 2 hours before needing recharge.
Highly recommended to have lots of fun. I use it basically to play with my ferret and he loves (and hates) this little thing, it's like a non-stop chase once the truck is on!
In it's stock form, this little truck has great control and performance compared to what you can buy at big box toy store. It's worth the extra money for the fun you have with it. It drives and handles like the bigger and more expensive models at your local hobby shop. This RC is easy to appreciate and really fun to drive. The part I love about it is that if it breaks, parts are easy to locate. So far, it's one of my favorite RC vehicles I have purchased.
While I have larger RC vehicles, this one was cute and so I bought one for my son (13). It's a little small for outdoor use on the street, and has some difficulty with uneven concrete, but it's really fun indoors, especially on short carpet or hard floors.
It's very fast indoors, outdoors it looks slower, but is still fun. Aftermarket hop ups like the lipo batteries should make it considerably faster. It's difficult to hit full throttle for very long inside unless you have 20' or more to play with, which makes it fun. It's fast enough to do wheelies for a foot or so, right out of the box. Overall it's a great alternative to cheaply made, slow "Toys 'R Us" type RC cars.
The team losi micro t rtr is honestly one of my favorite RC's I have. For one, its tiny, which makes it very suitable for indoors. However, this sucker is QUICK! You may be surprised at first, I know I was, and its not unusual to see this thing wheelie at the snap of the throttle. It really is an amazing truck, the suspenion works great and everything is pretty well true to scale. There are still plenty of hopups for this thing, even brushless motors and lipos, though I would be careful about going with those if it's only for indoor use. The selection of hopups though is limited to an extent, you can pretty well upgrade everything on it, but have to know where to look. If you're looking for a nice rtr for running around the house, the micro t is perfect, and if you decide to run it outside in some packed dirt or asphalt, you'll have a blast. Just watch your terrain, it's so small it'll easily get stuck on something like grass. I definitely recommend this little guy, I love it and you will too!
