Be Careful!

Despite the picture, This is NOT A CENGAGE ADVANTAGE BOOK!!! It is the international version WITHOUT THE INTEGRATED WORKBOOK PAGES. Great book to buy if you Don't need the workbook pages. Cengage makes several different versions of this book!This book is the base model for the Looking out/Looking in series. If you need the integrated workbook pages, you are looking for a CENGAGE ADVANTAGE book which is about twice as thick as the base model. Make sure you're getting the one your teacher wants.

Changes in Edition

The older editions of Looking Out, Looking in are not much different from their immediate replacements (that is, the edition right after) and by buying an older one, you can get a much better price, which is important if you're buying your books out of pocket. A warning though: it is a lie that the only difference between the 1th and 12th editions is the covers. There are a few additions in the 12th book. The 12th and 13th book appear to be a lot closer to eachother, but don't be surprised if you can't find an answer for a test in the 11th edition if it was written for the 12th. It is possible to make due, and if you'd like to try, then know that the characteristics needed for intercultural communication competence are tolerance for ambiguity, motivation, open-mindedness, and knowledge and skill.

looking out looking in

I love this book. It is filled with many different types of communication. Why and how people communicate, how the lack of good communication or no communication at all can affect a person. I bought this book becuase I needed it for my Interpersonal Communications class.

This book is a grat book for absolutely everyone to have. you dont have to be in a class to learn from this book. It will benefit EVERYONE. It goes through different types of communication and body language. you'll learn things you probably didnt know about yourself or situations and learn how to apply them to everyday life.

Great for relationships and people who need to build or enhance their communication skill Highly recommended.

excellent book to have as a bed side read

As Textbooks Go...

I bought this book for an Interpersonal Communication class. It's kind of boring and obvious, but as textbooks go, I actually enjoy it. I also highly reccommend the class, especially for the socially inept.
