True dual-band; compact and sleek design; good Web interface and software application; good set of networking features.
Its 5Ghz throughput speed could be better; no Gigabit or USB support.
The Linksys WRT400N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router is a good option for your wireless network, thanks to its support of both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, its helpful software application, and a good set of networking features. The router's unimpressive 5Ghz throughput speed and lack of Gigabit and USB support are the only major knocks against it.

I purchased this router for three reasons. I had to keep rebooting my old Linksys router because it kept dropping my laptops connection. The second reason is that it is actually two routers in one. I use the "N" connection with the wireless N bridge which is connected to my Blu-Ray player which I can use for streaming video. I use the G connection for my computers. It's been several months now that I've had this router and it's been rock solid not a single reboot! By now I would have rebooted my old router three times. And the last reason...great rice.
Extremely easy to setup both networks.
Most excellent!
I replaced my B router with this N router. Even though my laptop has only a wireless G card, I immediately noticed super-fast download speeds with this N router. No more "buffering" when watching videos, and no more watiting for photo images to appear on the screen. This router exceeded my expectations.
I was tired of the lag in the transfer rate on my "G" unit when watching a video on our TV downstairs, it would stop or hesitate. This one has a fast transfer rate the works great even on the "G" receivers. Easy to hook up and configure with in 10 minutes.
This is the second Linksys wireless router we have owned. The first one was smaller. This one was easy to set up and has extra ports. Would purchase it again.
Everything works great on the router, except for the 5ghz wifi.
I have full bar access with the 2.5ghz on my laptop throughout my 5000 sq ft, 1 story house.
But the 5ghz dosen't even show up unless I'm in the same room as the router. And even then, there's only 3 or less bars and it would completely dissappears at times.
Unless you have to have the 5ghz option, this router has my tumbs up. Router controls are simple, such as opening ports for games and such. 2.5ghz signal is amazingly strong. And it looks great on the table.
