Good router, has great coverage, even behind closed doors and walls.
usb port is excellent, works with multiple hardrives using a powered usb 2.0 hub.
very simple to config using cisco cloud connect which gives you access to your local network threw the web.
The only downside on my part is that i never got 300mbps, even not while transferring big files in my local network, from my pc,which is connected to the router with 1Gbit LAN, to my laptop which connects using intel advanced N wireless card.
The best i got was 160mbps, while the signal strength was Excellent... and after buying a 130$, 750mbps router, i expected to get at list 300mbps connection, so i was a bit disappointed on that part.
(even cisco support weren't able to help me)
This router is Super Fast, Totally Reliable and RANGE is INSANE! never drops, never weak!
People who gave this a bad review are obviously NEW at networking, or just self configured it wrong! Because this router is simple to set up, but has the complexity if you want to configure it yourself manually, lots of options and parental controls (not just for kids) keep the bandwidth hogs in check!
Once the router is configured, just log into it and turn OFF signal broadcast and your network is stealthy, people cant hack into what they dont know is there! but you are connected always!
Not to mention all the other standard features...and there are lots of em!
I love the USB port built into it for music servers, file server, Keeping all OUT of my computer and just getting what they need from the hard drive attached to the USB port! GET THIS ROUTER! Refurb is CHEEP!!
Works Like NEW! Nuff Said!
I decided on this router when my old one died specifically because of one feature it had that the next model down did not. The ability to add a printer via the USB port and share it on the network. To my dismay, I can't use that feature because Cisco Linksys forces you to update the firmware to the crappy Cisco Cloud Connect version, and then manage the device via your online account. Ha, ha, ha!! I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. I refuse to use anyone's crappy cloud junk, when the web-based utility gives me complete control over how I configure my own device. I have searched the web to see if anyone has been able how to figure out how to add the printer via the web browser config utility, no luck as of yet. I am extremely disappointed in the device, and feel like I wasted the extra money I spent on it. I am an IT professional, and will only use utilities that give me complete control over how I configure my device. I'll keep working to come up with a way to use the web-browser utility to configure a printer, and rest assured I will post the the solution for others who are as angry as I am.
Great router performance. Very fast with multiple users and devices connected.
Poor performance on USB 2.0 storage connection. Found its faster to connect my storge drive to an old PC and load/download files from my laptop to the drive on the old PC instead of connecting to the router. Cisco needs to fix that feature. Both systems running USB 2.0.
This router was purchased to replace an existing router I was using. The old router kept having to be unplugged and replugged (to reset) on a very frequent basis and I delayed replacing it because I didn't want to have to deal with all the technical issues of re-installing a new one. I am extremely pleased with the new Linksys router!! Installation was very fast and very easy and it is extremely reliable (no more resetting - yeahhh)!! Highly recommended to others that need or want to replace their current routers.
