This tablet is rather heavy, but this is a good thing when you take notes in the college.
Battery life is barely enough for a day (7 hours and a half, but it is satisfactory for me.
the pen is the real strength. I use Papyrus Beta and a few other apps for my courses. I then convert them into pdf and share them on dropbox. I don't carry any paper! Also, I have the books in digital format, and I can read them on the tablet. It is a real relief to carry just a tablet, instead of ten pounds of paper.
The only negative thing: the screen keeps all your fingerprints. A screen protector is a must. And have a cleaning cloth always with you :)
It works with any kind of keyboard, including Logitech unified dongles.
The ports! You have a REAL usb port on the device, plus one on the dock. Not to mention the microUSB and the microHDMI.
The ICS (4.0.4) update is nice.
I had an iPad 2, but this thing is way more useful.
To wrap it up: a well made, though squarish piece of technology. It has the limitations of the Android (and iOS for that matter), that is no multitasking to talk about, and very weak office apps, but for a student, from highschool to grad school, it makes a perfect notebook.
People are starting to get rid of these Thinkpads, for the want of newer stuff.
If you are not so wealthy and you can grab one cheaply, do it. It is worth it.
I was afraid to buy something as a tablet that at first looked with a lot of lack of capabilities... but after starting to learn the use of a tablet ( I was born with the use of computers at the MD-DOS operative system) I found he Android o.s. very intuitive... with slight differences with the Windows system, but that has a circumvented option always... The tablet CAN print, save and you can use applications as the Microsoft Office, that are 100% compatible. This Android system is an OPEN operative system, and LOTS of programmers are taken it in order to develop very small, but powerful programs. My daughter/wife loves those application and they have a tablet for personal use.. and at the price you can find on Ebay... hands down is the best thing you can have for your money! Yes, I would like to recommend people around me to use ebay...
Its mobility is really great for it is only 600gm.
The only thing I would like to complain is the wifi for every time swiched off and after a while turned on again, then you will find the wifi is on LIMITED Access! I have to disconnect it and connect it to solve this.
Well, its selling point is mobility so do not take it to compare with the Notebook. If you like to have a DVD ROM or to run the external Hard Disk with it, don't buy it.
The product come with no operations menu. Not even for the startup of the unit, this is bad for a person that is not tech oriented...even for me it took a bit of time to figure it out. Once start up was figured out everything else was easy and has been fun to use...The downs, well I really have not found anything yet. Remember that with all new technology and especially tablets it is not the answer to all needs, that is so with the I Pad and the Android. The android serves my needs fully, I prefer anything than apple products because of its propriotery function anyway. The pen writing app is sensational!!! Weight on this is a bit heavier than the last I pad and other android tablets but I see it as no different than carrying a hardback book. you get used to it. the Gorrilla Glass is great and reading options for books is awesome.
Bought it to complement my primary laptop Lenovo T420s. Form factor and battery life are amazing and thanks to Windows 8 Professional which makes integrating this tablet to work environment fairly simple.
