| Nintendo's best-selling Legend of Zelda franchise returns to Wii with enhanced sword fighting controls and a new setting that takes place high above the clouds. Set before the events chronicled in 1998's Ocarina of Time, the elfin hero known as Link will alternate between two disparate worlds -- a chain of floating islands in the air and a network of dungeons far below -- by using the ancient powers of the titular blade. While previous games featured riding and sailing, Skyward Sword has Link flying. Link will be able to use a large bird to glide, dive, and climb to explore his surroundings. On land, Link must defend himself against an assortment of creatures with his sword, which now takes advantage of the enhanced motion detection found in the Wii Remote Plus. Each thrust, slice, and parry by the player will be carried out by Link at the same time. Other motion-sensitive controls allow players to roll bombs, shoot arrows, and steer flying objects toward their targets. Initial runs of Skyward Sword include as a special bonus, a compact disc with selected music from "The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony." Once supplies have run out, the disc will no longer be included with the game. A limited edition bundle is also available for purchase, which includes the music CD, the game, and a gold-colored Wii Remote Plus controller emblazoned with the Hylian Crest. | |

Ok so ill start by saying that this might be one of the worst zelda games i have played !!!
Yes it is a 3 stars because it's a zelda game so it's a good game but if it was compared to other zelda games this would get a 1 star...
Lets say that i'm a huge fan of the series, the type that ONLY buys a Nintendo to play this game, i grew up playing the first one and have played and passed them all. This one is just not at the range of passed games as twilight princess and wind waker that both were amazing.
My major problem with this game is the world map, i mean there is not much to discover, or secrets to be held it is pretty my 4 areas that just expand, yes im not kidding you are constantly in the 4 areas, and they are not big !! so not much to explore.
Getting upgrades and secrets, ok so there is basically 2 places to buy stuff in the entire game !!! yeah you can't go around and finding the best price for stuff or to search for a specific item, you will find both stores right next to each other it's just lame.
Difficulty, it looks like they went from teenagers playing this game to the difficulty that a 5 year old could play, no joke!! so your looking for hiding stuff and secrets ? no problem they give you something that points you to the exact direction of what your looking for. Once you find some of this stuff, it's stuff that you already bought with some coins !! so you might end up with lots of stuff of the same kind. why bother in finding this stuff when you can buy everything cheap?
The sensor ok so every few minutes or every time i would use a bow or another item i would have to press down to calibrate, yeah they are awe full, the very few times i died, probably once or twice if much was because the control was not responding to my commands. Why can't we play this with a regular remote? i had to go and buy this motion plus to play this.
This might be the first zelda game that i just wanted it to end so i can go ahead and play anything else, i stopped caring about this secrets and side missions and just went on with the main story line, even tho i got most stuff by not even trying.
I could go on forever with the problems with this game if you know other zelda games, you will know how bad this one is. If you never played one then you will enjoy it, since like i said it is not a bad game in general but it is a terrible ZELDA game, when you expect nothing but the best.
Zelda the non talker but a giggler, gasper, and squealer.
Okay so full disclosure I am an adult and grew up playing Zelda, Zelda, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I thought Twilight Princess was a pretty adult Zelda and Wind Waker was kind of young so this is probably like the two combined. Wrong. This game is for five year olds at best and is even more child like than Wind Waker was. First of all it takes close to an hour or two to just get out of the first town and while waiting you have to watch close to forty minutes of giggles, gasps, grunts, and other baby like banter. Because you know every character is written for a five year old in mind and has to have at least two gasps, a few grunts, and some giggles. Now for a young child, this is funny and amusing but for anyone else after about ten minutes of it you are wondering if you should return the game or if you ever get to do anything besides watch child like banter.
Eventually you do and the game has decent physics but while the rest of the world has grown up with video games and made them for all ages, this game is squarely aimed at young children. So if you are an adult, don't get it. If you have a son or daughter they may love it.
This game is one f the greatest zelda games ever made. Take windwaker and combine it with ocarina of time and twighlight princess and this is what you get. An amazing game! the controls may be a bit difficult for a young child trying to play, but for a teen or adult, this game is necessary if you own a wii. Not to mention the free zelda music cd with this special edition.
This one beats them ALL!!! An amazing game!!! The controls may be a bit difficult for a young child trying to play, but for an experienced child, a teen, or adult, this game is a necessity if you have a Wii!!! The free Zelda music CD with the special edition is really kewl as well!!!
4 stars cause Nintendo didn't release a matching Gold Nun-chuck. Extreme disappointment!!!
The game it self is great!
The bundle is a must for Zelda fans, since it comes with a music CD and a gold wii motion plus remote!
Now if only Nintendo would realize that the whole idea of a controller, that is made of two parts, is that it matches color wise.
