great game

This is the ultimate Zelda lovers game! It was ONE of the most challenging of all the series of Zelda games. This was also the first time for Link to be in a 3 dimensional world! Of course, compared to the graphics on the new systems out today there is no justice to it, but the N64 was a giant leap for Nintendo. You were finally able to move in more than 4 directions and were able to experience what it was like to ride on your horse Epona! It was really amazing to have real depth to the video game. The N64 was the system for my generation, I believe any true rpg gamer will throughly enjoy this spectacular quest through time in the middle ages.
I found this game to be one of the most difficult, the dungeons were awesome, they became more difficult the further you went on with the game, along with the side quests that were necessary to complete the entire game. It took me quite a while to beat OOT, 6 months to be precise. This game is huge and full of difficult tasks to fulfill. I loved how everytime you earned a new item it would prove itself quite useful for the task ahead. I enjoyed the puzzles of OOT too, it really makes you think, sometimes you would have to just quit because you couldn't figure it out. Later, it would dawn on you and you would be excited because you figured it out!
Another awesome aspect of the game was your huge arsenal of weaponry! Mainly you were in the quest for the search of the MASTER SWORD, the sword with the power to seal away the evils bane! There was also the BIG GORONS SWORD which was a difficult sidequest, the poor giant Goron who makes swords has an eye infection, you must get him his magic eye salve in time before it spoils. When you played the young Link you found several of your most useful items in the first dungeon inside the great Deku tree. There was your fairy slingshot, your boomerang, your wooden shield, and deku nuts & seeds that you could buy from deku salesmen hiding in the rooms of the dungeon.
After you completed the task of finding the 3 stones needed to open the Temple of Time, you find yourself faced with the evil Gannon! You must remove the MASTER SWORD from its resting place and travel into the future. The present is now a dark and menacing world, it is now ruled by the evil Ganondorf! You must defeat the bosses of the elemental temples and save the sages who guard them! They will aide you in the end of your search for the evil ruler of Hyrule! You must destroy Gannon and get out of the tower before it collapses on you and princess Zelda! That's not the end, he reincarnates himself to his true nature! A giant beast! Destroy him with the power of the light and the kingdom of Hyrule will be saved! You then are free of your task and may continue your life as a child again....not for long though. There are many more adventures awaiting Link!!!
I think anyone who enjoys Zelda or any RPG game will find this a very satisfying way to spend free time! I sure did, this is the game that ultimately got me addicted to the series of Zelda games!

Best game ever!!!

When you hear "Ocarina of Time", you hear the name of a masterpiece. This game was originally launched for the Nintendo 64 in 1998; first in Japan, then in North America, and finally in Europe. It has been acclaimed by every true gamer, by every true critic, and by every true collector to be one of the best or the best game ever made.
Directed by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" takes place in the fictional kingdom of Hyrule in a time well before of the first four games of Zelda. Since the opening of the game, the main characters are introduced; Link, our hero, the one who fights for justice, the prince who will save the princess; Zelda, the princess who must be rescued from the hands of the evil; and Ganondorf, the kidnapper of the princess and antagonist of the story. The story takes place in 7 seven years; seven years that you will be traveling through time to complete quests and advance in the storyline. Through the game, you'll find a huge amount of quest, landscapes, enemies, people, towns, minigames and endless adventures.
This game was re-released for the Nintendo Gamecube in 2003. This game is a must have for any collector, for any gamer, for anyone who has a Nintendo 64 or Gamcube; in short, this is a must for everyone.

Classic

Like all games in the Zelda series, Ocarina of Time follows the adventures of a young Kokiri named Link. After a nightmare involving a certain young princess and the evil thief Ganondorf (who eventually turns into the horned creature known as Ganon), the elven boy wakes up in his home village tucked away behind the mysterious Lost Woods. The only Kokiri without a fairy, Link soon meets up with his new traveling companion, the winged Navi, and sets out on the adventure of his life. The quest, which inevitably turns into a rescue mission for Princess Zelda, leads players through dark dungeons, picturesque villages, into the heart of a volcano, to the bottom of a lake, through a haunted desert, deep into a magical forest, into a giant tree, the belly of a beast, and even through time. To say that this game is huge is an understatement. Every time you discover a new corner of the Kingdom of Hyrule, you'll be amazed at the detail, the richness of scenery, the many things to do, and the amount of thought that went into designing it all. For example, players can spend hours just exploring a village, talking to the inhabitants, solving puzzles, and looking for hidden items. (ign.com)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Collectors Editio

Theres nothing really bad or wrong with this game. It is to say, flawless. There are very few games that deserve such high recognition, and this is one of them.
The variety of tasks, items, mini quests, puzzles, and characters make this one of the greatest replay valued games available for the N64. It seems to fit the need and appeal of gamers of all ages, with its in depth plot and well designed boss fights. The puzzles are not exceedingly hard, but will challenge gamers to some extent as each dungeon presents its new obstacles. Your musical instrument, the ocarina, is probably your most immportant and consistently used item withing the game. It's ability to open doors, communicate with characters, and transport you across a wide map makes it an invaluable tool. Completing the other elements/mini quests of the game are important, and this game leaves you some freedom to complete these other tasks as you progress through the games. From dueling with a dragon to fishing for the hylian lunker, I would say this game has most of everything you could ever want in an RPG.
Nintendo's first move to the 3D gaming scene I think was a successful one, and they pulled it off brilliantly. After finishing this one, it will leave you wanting more. if you've never played but are maybe just a fan of the early zelda games or any action story game, you should pick this up and give it a go.
