Movie synopsis
Now, with this release, fans nostalgic for the simple moral lessons at the heart of LEAVE IT TO BEAVER can own all 39 episodes from the show's first season. Part of television's golden era, the series first aired in 1957, but really grew in popularity with later audiences when it ran as repeats. The picture of a perfect 1950s family, the Cleavers consisted of troublemaking Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver (Jerry Mathers), too-perfect big brother Wally (Tony Dow), wise dad Ward (Hugh Beaumont), and eager-to-please housewife June (Barbara Billingsley). Thanks to the influence of his friend and ally in crime, Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond), Beaver never goes too long without getting into some kind of mess. But with some of his mom's home cooking and his dad's sage advice, Beaver always sorts it out in the end.

Better Than anything in prime today

I have been waiting for years to get a copy of the first season of Leave it to Beaver. I am thrilled to have it now. This is a show from the era when Situation Comedy shows had realistic characters, a plot to the episode, and actors who could do more than walk around the set half naked and / or spue sexual comments.

Leave it to Beaver, and the first season in particular, is cuteness personified. It gives life's perspective from the view of children, while not making the parents look like a couple of bafoons. The Cleavers are a functional American family, showing family life as it was before dysfunctional be came popular and a way of life for actor and viewer a like. I can watch several episodes and not walk away feeling dirty.

The best episode is the first episode (the note from Beaver's teacher - hilarious) which sets the whole series. The special feature: The Pilot was interesting, but a little creepy. It featured a different Ward and Wally. They did right by replacing them. I don't think the show would have lasted long with out Hugh Boumont and Tony Dow. I am looking forward to getting season 2.

I would recommend this set to any and everyone. Don't let the movie "Leave it to Beaver" influence you. The movie is a disgrace and in no way related, representative or even slightly similar to the series. The series is classic cuteness in a humorous, make you smile and laugh kinda way. The Movie - bring out the barf bag.

After almost 60 years, we still love it!!! Modern shows after a few years, check out the $5 DVD section.

C'MON ALL YOU YOUNGIN'S(AND YOUNG AT HEART)...AND GRAB YOUR NEW SHINY LUNCH BOX WITH THE FIRST FULL SEASON OF LEAVE IT TO BEAVER. YOU GET 39 EPISODES OF WALLY AND THE BEAVER LEARNING LIFE LESSONS FROM DAD(WARD) AND MOM(JUNE). JUST KEEP'EM AWAY FROM THAT SNEAKY RASCAL EDDIE HASKEL IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR THEM. SO LET'S ALL GET "KINDA GOOFY" AND REVISIT THIS CLEAVER FAMILY BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF UNLOCKED DOORS AND LEMONADE STANDS. "GEE WALLY" NOW THAT SOUNDS KINDA NEAT!

Good tv entertainment

I wanted some television entertainment for my children that wasn't full of bratty behavior, foul language, or bathroom humor that they'd want to immitate and so at the suggestion of my brother I looked into buying old tv shows. They loved these. They're funny, entertaining, usually teach a lesson, and now - if I say one of their friends is an "Eddie Haskell" they know what I mean. I bought this as well as the first season of Andy Griffith and they were great purchases. We're using the lunchbox that came with Leave It to Beaver as the family first aid kit for band aids and bug bite ointment too.

I Love All The Treasure's I'm Finding On Ebay!!

I'm a very Nostalgic person. Seems the older I get the more nostalgic I become. I'm fairly new to the Ebay Family and am having the time of my life finding a lot of my childhood toys. I've always loved toys since I was little. Now I win toys and keep them on shelves to display. They bring a feeling of pleasure and warmth to me when I look at them and remember great times when I was a child. Maybe I'm having a mid-life crisis, don't know for sure. But whatever the reason, I'll be shopping ebay for a while. I bought "Leave It To Beaver--1st Season" because it represents a simpler life and time. People say it's a stupid show, but I like it anyway. It is kind of dumb, but that's what makes it funny. I watch alot of classic tv and enjoy it immensly. My purchase of this sitcom was just another one of my Fantastic Finds, as I call them, and it's in perfect condition. I've yet to recieve something from any seller that isn't what I expected it to be. I'm a happy Customer. Thank-You Ebay for this opportunity to share my feelings.

I loved it. It did not take too long to arrive.It appears to be just like new. Whie I am taling about this I have a complaint about my purchase of tales from the Crypt Season 5. The first one I ordeed NEVER came inand I NEVER got a credit. Can someone from E Bay look into this and get back to me? i have e-mailed several times and NEVER gotten a response.
BUT The Leave it to Beaver DVD set is great!
