Now Dickie has disappeared and Stephanie is the natural suspect in his disappearance. Is Dickie dead? Can he be found? And can she stay one step ahead in this new, dangerous game? Joe Morelli, the hottest cop in Trenton, NJ is also keeping Stephanie on her toes—and he may know more than lets on about her…It’s a cat-and-mouse game for Stephanie Plum, where the ultimate prize might be her life.

Review For: Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich (2008, Paperback, Reprint)
Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich--one of the funniest of the series I think and most of the Plum series does tickle the funny bone. All the men in Stephanie's life past and present are found in this Plum book. Some sexy some oversexed ex spouse jerk Dickie Orr! You have to like Evanovich's dry wit and funny scenes that could happen!!?? Fun characters~ She takes great care to give you more than a few laughs to warrant the NEW paperback book price of $8.00 plus whatever tax you pay where you live! Try ebay try half.com to save some. Buy new at local bookstore if you're rich!. Just buy! Maybe a movie in this one?? I guffawed out loud while reading Lean Mean Thirteen and eating my taco at the local taco emporium!! A++ for funny!

Still the Funniest Mystery Writer Around

Lean Mean Thirteen did not disappoint! I was smiling, chuckling, and occasionally laughing out loud at the antics of Stephanie Plum and the rest of the gang.

The 13th installment (15th if you count Visions of Sugar Plums and Plum Lovin') of the adventures of Jersey girl Stephanie Plum is incredibly good. The mystery, as always, is easy to figure out, but no one really reads these for the whodunnit. The characters are what make this series great!

Although the story could be read as a stand-alone novel, I highly recommend reading the series in order. One for the Money is the first novel in the series.

Where else are you going to read about exploding taxidermy? And who else could make such a thing funny?

Read it in one day--which brings me to my only complaint... Her books keep getting shorter!

Highly recommend for those needing a good laugh.

Highly entertaining, as her previous books have been!

With all of the hijinx going on you can't help but laugh out loud! First you have Grandma Mazur opening coffins at wakes and then theres Lula, the ex-street walker that has a very loud sense of style (to put it politely)and who usually accompanies Steph on her outings to roust the bad guys and to eat lunch. Once you read the first few pages of this series, I guarantee you won't be able to wait until she releases her next book to see what Stephanie can get herself into this time, anything can and has happened with her working as a bounty hunter in Jersey.
The most entertaining books I have ever read, by far! Thank you Janet Evanovich! And please don't stop!

Lean Mean Thirteen (2007)

I can highly recommend this and all previous Janet Evanovich books. They are an addictive story line. Her , what I call, the "Number Series" of stories with titles like "One For The Money", Two For The Dough, "Three To Get Deadly" etc...are about a wonderful heroine, Stephanie Plum, who is pushed into the life of a bounty hunter, though ill prepared, and those who come to her aide. Also her "Full" series, ie." Full Bloom" etc. about other characters and their unusual encounters are just great. Ms. Evanovich writes to folks who like a fun and thrilling read that is not so detailed that you need an interpreter. Her stories are well suited to young teens and seasoned adults. They carry enough intrigue and inuendo to be interesting, but are not too gory or smutty. My teenage daughter has inhaled these series and Ms. Evanovich just can't keep up with her appetite for more.
Another author that has won the heart of my daughter is Harlan Cobin....He has a mystery series that she has also consumed and waits impatiently for more.

Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite writers. This is the 13th in the series. The characters are a riot and the story entertaining. Stephanie the bounty hunter is up to her usual hijinks and involves all the rest of the characters. This book features her ex husband Dickie and a crazy taxidermist. If you have never read this author, start at the beginning with One For The Money. You will be hooked!
