Synopsis
Nicholas Sparks creates another moving portrait of young love, this time centered on "Ronnie" Miller, a New York teen who remains actively dysfunctional three years after her parents' divorce. The rebellious Ronnie is sent to spend the summer with her father in North Carolina, in the hopes that the soothing coastal atmosphere may calm her troubled soul. Instead, she finds herself possessed by the passions of her first love, and she must decide whether to fight these frightening new feelings or surrender to them and risk losing the spirit which forms her identity. As usual, Sparks's readers are encouraged to keep a hanky handy to catch the delirious tears which are sure to result from this heartfelt tale of what happens when two forms of love--familial and romantic--come in conflict.

Publisher's Note
#1 bestselling author Nicholas Sparks's new novel is at once a compelling family drama and a heartrending tale of young love.
Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.
The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.

Her teenage life turned upside-down by her parents' divorce and her father's relocation out of state, Ronnie Miller remains bitter three years later when her mother urges her to spend a summer with her father, a concert pianist who is quietly immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. Simultaneous. Movie tie-in.

Her teenage life turned upside-down by her parents' divorce and her father's relocation out of state, Ronnie Miller remains bitter three years later when her mother urges her to spend a summer with her father.

Industry Reviews
"The story...is typically Sparksian, an engaging if heavily telegraphed stew of romance, betrayal, and youthful discovery, garnished with a heavy dollop of Christianity. Fans of THE NOTEBOOK...will gobble it up with glee, right through the tear-duct-milking finale."

Review For: The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks (2009, Unabridged, Compact Disc)
My first reaction was this was not my type of book. It didn't take me long to get into the story and absolutely love it. True to the writings of Mr. Sparks, he nailed it again with a story of all aspects of love--first love, family love, friend love. You name it, and he covered it. Impressivive book.

I love to read anything Nicholas Sparks write. This one moved a little slower for me than his books usually do. But what a great story. Coming to terms with a divorced parent and a final chance to understand and forgive, is a great story now matter how you spin it.

Review For: The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks (2009, Unabridged, Compact Disc)
This is a true depiction of family dynamics. Including healthy families, divorced families and those dealing with end of life issues. The description of the teenager and her moods and behaviors is so true and real. A really great read that will leave you thinking a lot about the story and the underlying stories.
