So far this is my favorite phone (Slider or Q, either one). Though I took off one star for battery life, it isn't that bad for an android and charges back fairly quickly. I appreciate the physical keyboard so much that this is the phone I choose even though I have used a phone with a bigger touch screen. Other than a bigger screen, the only thing I would care enough to change about this phone is that I wish the keys were flat and maybe rubberized rather than rounded up in the middle and slick, as their current shape causes my fingernails to slip off. The touch screen is responsive, the keyboard is arranged well overall, the slider feels sturdy, the downloadable apps are great, the camera is good enough, the speed is fine for me...overall I like this phone! And VM plans are a good choice for me.
I knew what to expect of the battery life when I was purchasing so I decided to also get an extra battery. Besides that, the phone is awesome. The keyboard is a definite plus for me. The speed of the phone was something I didn't expect but pleasently suprised about. I can handle a million things on this phone, though the number one app I would recommend for download is Juice Defender (like I said, the battery life isn't the best). All in all, I love this phone.
I originally started my experience with Virgin Mobile using an Optimus V. I have no complaints about how it worked according to the features it had. However, I just couldn't get used to the onscreen touch keyboard. I do a lot of texting, and I got sick of the touchscreen's flakiness. I used all of the major keyboard replacements, to no avail. So I got the Optimus Slider. I couldn't be more happy with it. The unit is barely 2 millimeters thicker than the V, and the keyboard slides out very smoothly. Although the keys aren't discrete plastic components (they're sort of raised bumps in the membrane), they work pretty well even with my big fingers. The only hitch is the top row of keys tends to a bit hard to hit due to the screen being above it. Other than that, this unit is very nice and usable. The screen is bright and looks nice at any angle. It took a root without issue, so I was able to get rid of the bloatware. All in all a great phone for its size and price range.
Great phone with features that suit my needs. For my clumsy fngers, the slide out keyboard is a lifesaver. With all the magnificent features, it comes as a total surprise that the phone contains
such a worthless, and useless battery. The phone, alone, is worth the investment but the additonal cost of having one or two spare batteries on hand adds an expense that overshadows all the wonderful features. LG Batteries run $40.00 to $50.00 each.
Love this smartphone. Needed a physical keyboard. Love Virgin Mobile affordable monthly service. I highly recommend the LG Optimus Slider for the smart budget minded.
