Great phone. Slick appearance and very handy features. I bought this phone to replace my other android. I found it had a better overall look to it, better battery life, and even a better camera. With its own features and the wide variety of the Play Store, you can do just about anything with it. The 3G is great from when I'm away from my computer and the Google Maps App has honestly saved my life more than once! Very happy with it. I guess the one glitch I would complain about is the fact that the buttons are touch-only (something I originally loved). To unlock the phone, you HAVE to use the button at the top, can't use the buttons. And every once in a while, when I have an app open the buttons won't respond. This is very rare but also very irritating. Still no reason to throw this out as an option, though.
The Optimus Elite is a great smartphone, especially for the price. I was looking at the HTC Evo and the Apple iphone, and for the cost ($300 and $500, respectively) I could not see what they did that was worth so much more than the Elite. The Elite functions great for my everyday tasks - talking, texting, web browsing, checking email, and GPS. It also does well with other apps that I use less frequently, like music and pictures. Add to that Virgin Mobile's $35/ a month unlimited plan, and I'm saving hundreds over what I would be paying for the Evo or iphone, and would still be using my phone for the exact same things. The battery life could be better, but I plug my phone in every night, so I haven't had any trouble with it yet.
I had a cell and it lived in the car since it was a car phone. But my friends and family wanted me to carry one on me. So I figured if I paid for a smart phone then I might actually carry it.
I am a Virgin customer already for broadband and paylo cell service and I wanted to stay with them. I reviewed all the phones in my budget and the LG Optimus Elite won out over the Slider.
Over all I liked the phone alot. It had all your standard features you expect on an Android based phone. Now I cant give too much detail as I only had the Elite for a week. Mine had an issue. It would turn off if it went idle for any length of time and you'd have to pull the battery to get it to come back on.
I contact Virgin and they sent me a new phone out. Problem there was they sent the wrong one. I got a Slider. Not wanting the hassel of sending it back and waiting another week, I kept the slider. It works just fine. I do have to give a big thumbs up to Virgin's customer service. There was no if and or buts, they just said to give them the address and a new phone would be on its way.
I would recommend it even with the issue I had. I've checked forums and reviews of others and no one else has had the same issue that I have saw. One bad apple.
Bought this phone last month. The phone in general is good, I like the ringtones and text tones. It's easy to handle also light weight. The battery on the other hand not good at all. I find myself charging the phone if not two, three times a day. When I bought the phone, on line, there were no reviews to read before I bought it. So I bought it, not knowing about the battery life. When I contacted the seller because I wasn't happy with it he wouldn't give me a refund. He blames me for not reading the full description of the phone including the battery life, like I'm suppose to know what 1520 mAh battery life is. Would not recommend buying this phone unless you don't mind charging it several times a day.
I purchased this as a replacement for an LG Optimus S on the Sprint network. Although the "S" was fine, I got tired of paying $82 a month for unlimited text and web when I was making about 6 mins of phone calls per month. With the Virgin Mobile phone I get the same network, but for only $35 a month. The Android operating system is slightly improved and the phone is lighter and thinner. Battery life is about the same and not what I would call great. Still, for me it was the perfect move.
