Ive had mine for 6 months. And this is a really good phone.Great size for a pocket carry.I have large clunky fingers, and the number buttons on the front are easy to use for me.Also the slide out qwerty keyboard makes texting easy. But, DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING!!!
When a call is coming in, the phone will speak out the numbers of the phone number or the name of the caller if theyre in your contacts. I like this function as it allows me to not answer a call from my ex girlfriend, if I had an ex girlfriend that I didnt want to talk to.Which I dont. But I digress. When it calls out my wifes name, I answer it as fast as I can. Sometimes it is even my son calling me on my wifes phone. But I digress again. Is that how you spell digress? Ive never actually written it before.Di means to diverge.Gress indicates away from.Di gress. But I go off on a bunny trail.
I know that most phones have a calculator function, and this one does, but I use that function alot to figure sales tax for my jobs, and it is easy to access and use.
The Phone locks after about 15 seconds and you have to PRESS the OK button 2 times to access any function. This is a good thing, as it eliminates pocket calls.
With VERIZON WIRELESS, I never get dropped calls (unless the other caller has some other lesser cellular carrier) and I have great signal strength always. The thing that bugs me is 2 or three times a day,it tries to shop for apps! I dont need apps. I dont need to know the weather forcast for the next 5 days from my phone. I also dont want to know what happened on this date in 1922.If I can figure out how to turn the app feature off, I will be completely happy with this phone. Other than that, Battery life has been good,It started out GREAT. Lately it has been getting shorter, so I purchaced an aftermarket battery off ebay.It was generic and it was worse than the used one. I had to buy another one, this time a new OEM LG 900 mah battery.Less than $10 on ebay. Now its back to like new.
I really like the MP3 player,It Is BETTER than most cheap MP3 players. It can play through the speaker phone, or there is a Stereo Headphone jack. You can use it while the phone is plugged in charging and use a 3.5mm line out cord straight into your home or auto sound system. If youre listening to music and the phone rings, the music stops and it becomes a phone again.UNLESS...you turn on Music Only mode in Options. You have to load a MICRO SD card with music from your computer to put into the slot to have music. The slot is inside the battery cover. Push it in till it clicks, and push it in again to release. With a 4 GB card you can have more music than you can play in a full day.
UPDATE: I now have turned off the apps function and battery life shot way up. Awesome!!!
I found a plastic cover at the verizon store. It is a beautiful blue color and I couldn't resist it. Well, this cover is so good to have. I thought it would add too much bulk, but it isnt noticably bigger. Is helps the back cover stay on better, as it would pop off easily from any fall. The cover also prevents buttons from being pushed while its in my pocket, further increasing battery life. SWEET!!!
To summarize, I hate cell phones, but if you have to have one, THIS IS A GOOD ONE TO HAVE. And VERIZON WIRELESS IS THE BEST CARRIER with the BEST NETWORK. (This has been a public service announcement.) And remember, DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING!!! Please.
Well, I was all happy with it at first--it did was it was supposed to, it never failed me, but then, it wasn't at all like it was. One time it locked itself and I had no idea how to unlock it. It kept asking me for a code, and I had never set one, so I was really confused. One of my friends however told me to put in the last four digits of my number and it worked. But then, it got worse. It started turning off at random times. The battery life is awful, one time I tested it, and it only lasted about three hours. I thought it was just my battery, but everyone else is also complaining about it as well. This phone is almost TOO easy to use; I like challenging phones, so this was definitely not the phone for me. The phone itself is really slow, I find myself waiting a while to send one text message. It is really slow when someone sends me a picture. The camera on it is pretty good--clear images always come out of it. My phone started doing this really weird thing, it would freeze when I tried to turn it on. Another thing, it would take FOREVER to turn on. It wouldn't let me go to my apps, or at least I would try only to be frustrated with it because it would take way too long.
This is the type phone we got for our teenage son as his first phone. The slide mechanism broke after 6 months, it could not be fixed and of course was not covered by any type of warranty even though it was brand new when we got it. His friend had gotten the same phone and his slide mechanism broke after 2 months. I decided to get him a phone like the one I had, a Verizon Octane. I mistakenly bought this phone again! I now use this phone and he has mine. I would not get this phone again and definitely would not get one for a young person that texts a lot. I figure I text less so hopefully the slide won't brake on me and will last until we renew our contract. When I write a text it does not capitalize the first word in the first sentence, not sure why. I am old school and that really bugs me! The texting key pad is very small. My hands aren't big and I have a hard time using it.
Why did you buy this product?
I really wanted a replacement phone that required no data plan, had amazing battery-life, and also had many of the same features my old phone did.
What do you like and dislike about the product?
Well, I'm pretty much in love with this phone right now. It performs very well in all aspects. It suits all my needs from texting, to calling, to even the most basic things such as personalizing. I recommend the LG Cosmos 2 if you want an amazing phone that requires no data plan, works efficiently, and has social-networking capabilities. Of course, the features for Facebook, Twitter, etc...aren't as good as they would be on a smart-phone, but they're #1 for a non-smart phone in my book!...P.S.-The battery life is unbelievable! It literally lasted two days after I had received it!
How does this product compare to others?
Like I said previously, if you want a very efficient, non-data plan phone, this is it!
The phone works excellent! I am very pleased with my purchase and the willingness of the seller to negotiate the price. My orginal phone got damadged and Verizon refused to replace it (at no charge) regardless of the circumstances. There were three small x's on the top of the battery and because they were smeared they insisted it was due to water damage. I remember when my phone started not working correctly I pulled the battery out of the phone to reboot it and I wiped my finger across the top of the battery to make sure there was nothing wrong with the battery connection. Something Verizon had advised me to do with another phone I had prior to this one. So I must of smeared the x's when I wiped my finger across the top of the battery hense that automatically meant to Verizon my phone got wet.
