I bought this product as a replacement for one that was damaged during an electrical storm. I had such a good experience with the original LG Blu-ray player, I decided to stick with the brand. I was not disappointed with this player. It plays CD's DVD's and Blu-Ray discs flawlessly, and it has the ability to play movies, photos and music stored on USB memory sticks. (a great selling point for me)
It also has an incredible array of "wirelsss" application, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, YouTube and others. It's an amazing little machine, it's smaller than the original it replaced, but does everything even better. I'm trying to think of a negative about this unit, but so far haven't found anything. I know there's an "issue" with the YouTube playback, but since I don't use it for that mainly. . It's not a problem for me.
All in all it's a compact, reliable, efficient machine, and it cost me less than half of the original LG unit it replaced.
We needed an upgrade for our current DVD player because we did not like the user interface and the operation was kind of flakey. We saw this player on ebay and liked the features and had a good name (LG). We got it home and hooked it up and it worked great. It immediately recognized our media share devices and played all formats of home videos, played music, and displayed our pictures. It also has many apps that are interesting. I guess the only thing we don't like about the product is the number of paid apps that are on the unit. I thought there would be more free apps. Overall the product has done all that it said it would do and the media share functionality has been great.
excellent machine, very easy to setup and operate. The machine functioned perfectly right out of the box and after a quick installation setup. Built in wireless makes updating a snap. Not much for Apps, maybe in the future. Excellant picture and sound with HDMI connections.
I wanted this player to get Internet streaming videos, TV programs and movies. Although this unit is also wireless I connected the cable for better quality. The installation was quick and easy. All I had to do is connect the cables and turn it on, the software did the installation for me. So far I have Netflix, Pandora and You Tube. This is a really great step forward for our in home entertainment. I really like the player and I would buy it again. I have only good things to say about it.
Love the older BD570. Love this BD670 just as much.
BUT... A HUGE BUT...
Youtube on BD670 is EXTREMELY BAD!
The stocked Youtube application worked when first connected.
Next day firmware upgrade deliver a EXTREMELY WORST EVER Youtube application that I have known for nearly 18+ months.
If Youtube is important to you, DON'T BUY ANY LG Blu-Ray players!!! Their Youtube application is most likely the same for all LG-BD-models.
For your references on Youtube problems on LG-BD670:
LD Product support is a BIG joke! I concur with the interactions from above links in this aspect too.
Youtube is VERY IMPORTANT to my use, thus the 1-star rating.
Otherwise, it'd have been rated 4-star
