A fine spin off of Rock Band
Created: 02/26/10
This is Rock Band, but aimed at a younger audience. The Lego aesthetic helps in that regard, but doesn't necessarily give the "tweenager" impression that Band Hero does. There are 45 songs to play in this game. Because this is roughly half of what you get in Rock Band or Rock Band 2, playing career mode can get repetitive. Luckily, you can play normal Rock Band DLC in the game (provided it's a "kid friendly" song, which the game decides for you). The song selection is pretty good, with some standouts and the ones that don't work as well. You can also import every song from this game into Rock Band, so if you like songs you can have access to them all without switching disks. The game has nearly identical features to Rock Band, with a few additions like a Super Easy mode, where all you have to do is strum the guitar or hit any drum pad and you will play the note "correctly". Great for little kids who don't care about score and juts want to play around.
Overall, this is a decent game. It doesn't match up to the original Rock Band games, but it's fun in its own right, especially for family gaming. If you have young rock stars in your home, or you like some of the tracks, it's worth the dough.

Rockband Lite with Legos
Created: 09/20/10
Originally, I purchased this to expand my track list; and I'm glad I did. Not only does it have classic Bon Jovi and Tom Petty but it has great newcomers like We The Kings and Boys Like Girls. Anyway, this is what the game has to offer by way of music as the production company takes the "E10+" rating very seriously (certain songs already downloaded in my harddrive did not make the cut). Anyway, think of Lego Rockband as a lighter Rockband fair with "family-friendly" music to enjoy and the added bonus of creating and customizing pre-existing characters.
Overall: It's a fun enough game and will be well worth the money to export the set list if it's compatible with Rockband 3. Peace.

Great game for family fun! The game is very easy to play and has easy levels for my kids! It also has a nice mix of current as well as classic songs that everyone can remember. I would love to see a sequel to this game!

Great for families

If you want a traditional lego style version of rock band/guitar hero, this one fits the bill. There are some easy songs and some harder songs that will still challenge the casual player and the lego theme is a fun addition. I read the review on ign.com before purchasing the game, and I agree with most of the review. I can see that for the hardcore gamer who wants to rock out as hard as possible, this probably isn't the game they want. For someone who wants a medium to hard challenge with good ambiance, I think this is a great addition. You can play any song downloaded from rock band 2 and the super easy mode is great for my musically challenged family and very young kids. It's nice not having to go to "no fail mode" when they want to play along. I would recommend to casusal and semi-serious gamers who like rock band. Especially if they are family focused.
