| Once again rendering a beloved George Lucas creation in LEGOs, LEGO Indiana Jones features the intrepid explorer in an epic adventure based on the film series. Developed by the same team that created the LEGO Star Wars series, LEGO Indiana Jones presents a tongue-in-cheek take on the first three cinematic adventures of pop culture's most iconic archaeologist, including Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. | |

The second installation in the Lego series has much in common with the original (Star Wars): good, clean family fun; lots of 'replayability'; plenty of characters to unlock and items to collect; and Han Solo.
Han Solo?!
Yes, Han is an unlockable character in the Lego Indiana Jones Trilogy, but he's not the only one. Unfortunately, the unlockable characters have very little use in this game, unlike the Ghost of Obi-Wan, et al., in the previous installment. In fact, the secrets and cheats in this game are nearly useless, even if they do add a little more flavor to the game.
Like Lego Star Wars, the Indy game has plenty of puzzles to keep you guessing, lots to explore, and various character types to choose from. Also like Star Wars, Indy is buggy. Count on resetting more than once or twice because necessary items disappear, seagulls don't fly right, and any host of problems. The good thing is, you don't normally mind playing a level over (in fact, these games are designed so that you play each level at least twice).
Minor problems aside, this game has that elusive fun factor that many better-designed games sorely lack. Once you get used to the somewhat wonky control scheme (which way do I jump, so I don't fall into the pit for the fiftieth time?!), gamers of any skill level can beat the game and have a whole lot of fun doing it. These Lego games are a great way to bond with the kids or spouse - you'll find yourselves talking about it and thinking about playing again throughout the day.
Five stars out of five, with the aforementioned caveats (bugs, controls, nearly pointless secret characters and levels).
I was using a 128mb graphics card as it turned out the minimal needed. My son and I loved the creative way to incorporate Lego into video games. We came across one glitch. It seemed that I was the only one as I could never find a solution to our problem. Our video settings were 800x600 so we could have the best play possible and my son was only able to get to 98.6% complete or one mini-kit and the warehouse bonus level. The level in question was Escape the Mines mine cars part 1. There was a kit off to the left side of the track we could never reach. I changed the video setting to the highest resolution for this one and was able to get it. Since then we've gone 100% complete. I enjoy these games but for PC they just seem too buggy. Isolating minor video adjustments to complete levels is quite frustrating and is very hard to explain to younger children that their game is malfunctioning. I feel Travelers Tales had something with Star Wars 1 & 2 where there were no glitches that inhibited game play. I guess the best solution is to start with a larger graphics card a 256mb or even a 512mb.
Love the adventure even more fun that the Star Wars Lego game...more twists and turns in the play. If you like adventure this is the game for you. Great for probably ages eight and above. The deals here on ebay are much better than any where else even with the shipping.
I bought this game for my 10-year old boy. He already had the Star Wars Lego game and it influenced on him about the new buy. He liked a lot the new one and filled out all his expectations.
In my opinion these kind of games, I mean Lego games don't show raw violence, blood etc, and therefore I prefer and recommend them for parents who are looking for minimize violence impact in their children without blind them about the reality.
My 7 year old son is a fan of playing Lego games. In one week of playing this game he has up to 70,000 points. I like it because my son is also typing as well as playing this game. My son used his Birthday money to get this game. He asked everyday if it came in the mail yet. I'm glad it came on a Friday so he could have the weekend to learn the game. Thank you so much.
