The nanoKEY is a far cry from perfect.. but far better than nothing!

The Korg nanoKEY is exactly what you pay for: a pressure-sensitive, two octave keyboard that is is, well, wimpy. My lower F key falls off every half hour or so and the alt keys mostly just get in the way; however, the sensitivity of the keys is impressive and the device slips easily next to my laptop in its case.
I love the nanoKEY only because it is infinitely better than using my qwerty keyboard to trigger notes and, for the price, what more could we ask?

First off, let me say that this is the perfect keyboard to use with the iPad, since it doesn't require any power. All you need is the camera connection kit and you can plug it right in to the iPad and start using it immediately with all kinds of music apps. Very cool. :) It took a bit of adjustment to get used to this keyboard, since it feels kind of ticky tacky like a computer keyboard, and is hard to play fast with. I like that it's pressure sensitive, though.
I write music on a small bed and the keyboard is the perfect size for that, as well as being easy to bring to work with me to use on my lunch break. I like that it's lightweight and thin. Be careful with the narrow usb jack on the side...it bends pretty easily, but if you break it, at least you're not out a lot of money. I wish this keyboard had just a few more keys on it and a mod wheel, but for the price and the size, I am extremely happy with this keyboard. Plus, if I get trapped in a bunch of wires, I'd rather have light and inexpensive stuff attached to my laptop, rather than seeing either my laptop or an expensive keyboard take a nose dive to the floor. So this keyboard is really good for my peace of mind. No regrets at all!

for some reason I let my older sister play with this keyboard, and in about two minutes two of the keys fell off. Pretty shoddy. It's nice that it's so cheap and small, though; just wish the keys were more durable.

Took a bit to get the license for the M1 LE software but was worth the wait. Will tide me over till I save up for a more professional keyboard with more keys.
