This is a powerful camera for the exceptional price of $97 CDN (sale). This is my first digital but after less than a month I have just about retired my Pentax ME Super. It is very easy to use and with a fairly cheap 512M SD chip ($33) takes almost unlimited pictures. Downloads and startup are very fast. I missed a viewfinder at first but the 2" LCD quickly takes its place. The menu function is simple and offers a wide choice of resolutions. Settings are easy and the 3.0x optical zoom is smooth.
I was not impressed with the battery life when using disposable alkalines but for $29.99 a charger and 4 AA rechargeable batteries provides much more reliable power and solves the problem. I am convinced it would be very hard to beat this camera for ease of use and features. Even with the extras above the camera was still close to $150 yet seems competitive with several costing well above $200.
This is a great little camera. The view screen is large for such a small camera body and makes viewing and centering the subject quite easy. The onboard memory is small but is fine for snapshots that will be loaded to your computer fairly quickly.
The software that come with the DiMage E500 is expansive and makes editing your photos a breeze.
Love the preview screen ! The look of the camera is nice, the resolution is very good and operating it is easy. The only thing bad is the batteries go dead very quickly and there is not a memory card with the camera.
I need a cameraq for my sister.
Thise camera did not work that all
but I really dont want to returned because the owner can sell it again. i dont want any more people get rip out. " take the money for nothing" most or the cameras I bougth are not working
