| With a 2-inch LCD display, the Kodak Zx1 Camcorder is capable of capturing up to 10 hours of HD-quality video with an expandable SD/SDHC card that holds up to 32 GB. Slow-motion playback as well as fast-forward and rewind options allow for frame-by-frame viewing, and the pocket camcorder records video at 720p resolution. Unlike many pocket camcorders that need outlets to recharge, the Kodak Zx1 operates on two AA batteries. Its durable characteristics allow the Kodak video camera to perform well in inclement weather and in difficult lighting circumstances. Featuring sturdy, rubberized doors to protect all of its ports, the 128 MB camcorder also has a stainless steel panel to provide extra durability. The lightweight Kodak Zx1 Camcorder contains a low-distortion microphone, which captures clear audio sounds. Use the enclosed USB cable to upload videos from the Kodak video camera easily to YouTube or use the video-editing software to enhance the videos. The 128 MB camcorder also comes with an HDMI cable to view videos on an HDTV. The solid, waterproof features of the Kodak Zx1 Camcorder make it an ideal choice for everyday video recording. | |

Relatively rugged, attractive design; captures video at 720p HD resolution; decent video; memory-card expansion slot; runs off AA batteries; bundled HDMI cable; zippier performance.
No memory card; batteries don't recharge via USB connector; software isn't Mac compatible; poor connectivity.
While its video quality doesn't quite match up to that of the Flip Video MinoHD, the Kodak Zx1 does win points for its stylish, rugged design.

This camera is a good value. I have been shopping for a ruged, waterproof camera after having several of my own cameras fail after use out doors. While many consumers use a phone as there camera as well as computing device. Instead, I was in the market for a stand alone camera that could handle some abuse as well as hd video. This camera is compact, boots up repidly and seems reliable. It is easy to use and the hd quality is good for what I use it for, which is documenting travels and adventures as well as family moments on the go. I especially like that it accepts AA batteries that can be found almost anywhere. I do not need to plug the camera in somewhere to charge it up, as that can be difficult on the beach or in a forest. Its small, about the size of a tv remote and can easily fit into a pocket or hang comfortably from a lanyard. I am pleased with the durability so far, for the price it is very well constructed and has a solid simple operating system. Terrific for the price. I considered buying other bargain cameras, the cheepo generic "disposable" cameras and I went instead with a well known brand Kodak and I am glad that I did.
To sum it up: compact, durable case, waterproof, standard batteries, simple and stable software and hd video, pictures and sound, Inexpensive camera.
I purchased this item refurbished $29.95. I am very pleased with the value. The camera does an exceptional job for my use. Included software is a bonus. Uploading to YouTube is a snap. The still photos are 1.5 mp, and turn out clear. The HD video is clean, clear and very satisfactory for everyday use. Remember this IS NOT a high end camcorder, but as a pocket camcorder, it's ease of use, and portability beat the "Flip" style, hands down, any day. I am using a 4gb SDHC card, Windows xp operating system on my pc, and have had zero problems. I would recommend this little camcorder to anyone looking for an inexpensive, easy to use, and fully functional device.
This handheld HD recorder is very easy to use and starts up fast for quick recording. It is able to output the video live through the rca cables so it works great for FPV flying. My only complaint is the video is a little choppy. It doesn't have image stabilization. The video does look great for 720p but you have to hold it very still or use a tripod to get super great stable video.
I haven't had the camera very long, although my experiences so far are good ones. Here are some of the things I like about the camera; it is compact, has a tripod mount, if your rechargable batteries go down AA's work well, I haven't downloaded any video yet however the quality of screen playback is good, the only thing I have noticed is that the recorded audio seems a little low on the device during playback.
Bought this product because I know someone who owns one, and I really liked the idea of it. The reasons, to me, why it's great is because of it's size and it shoots it in HD. Now the reason I gave it 4/5 is because it uses two AA batteries (though they are rechargable), and it doesn't have much of a zoom. Overall this is good product.
