Very good immersion blender with very convenient attachments. It has a powerful motor & I really appreciate the fact that the speeds are adjustable. Purees my soups & sauces in an instant, just make sure you use a deep container when whisking to avoid wearing your food. Don't be thrown off by the reviews that claim the blender breaks/strips easily. If it is used for the items it is designed to work with (sauces, soups, etc.) and not as a ice crusher (that's what regular blenders are for) it will last for years with no issues.
After eight years with my last one I cannot express all the good points with these units. Countless hot soups mixed with it milk shakes for the grandkids and thousands of other times we use this and never fails to amaze myself and my wife. One incident with the blender head seal coming loose and a quick e-mail to the manufacturer and two days later here comes a brand new unit FREE! Such service and accountability for an American company!! Negative point: After eleven years of continual use the hard rubber coupler that mates with the shaft of the blender head stripped out I bought this new unit on eBay. All the other equipment such as the counter top blender mixer has a replacement rubber toothed unit that is a simple replacement item. This blender fails to have one to replace so that is my only beef with the blender! If they had that simple 1" coupler as a replacement I would definitely still be using my old blender, but how can you keep selling these if they won't wear out? So in conclusion don't mess around with those other brands these blenders are work horses and well worth the cash to buy one. Rich & Kay
Received this as a Christmas gift last year in Red. I had one several years ago of a different brand and it was lost in a move. I love this for making fluffy omelets and scrambled eggs. I have used it for cake mixes and it works well, but I still prefer my hand or stand mixer for those type of baking/mixing needs. The feature I love is the chopping attachment. You can chop nuts, onions, celery, carrots, fuit, omelet fixings, whatever you need for your holiday baking. And it is just the right size to do it without having to pull out the food processor, if you just need only a cup or so. It also comes with a container with lid. You can use the container to whip up your eggs or your mixes and then cover and place in fridge until you are ready to use. Also makes yummy smoothies and milkshakes, my daughters can even use it for that. The container is the right size to whip up one smoothie. I am rating this on performance and practicality. This would also be great for persons with limited counter space, can be stored in a drawer or in a cabinet. Would be a great gift for college student for same reasons. There is no end to all the things you can do with this, I have also used it for coffee grinding, just pulse until you get the grind you want. You may have to look for the chopping accessory additionally. Around the holiday's however, they come in bundles, like mine did last year. The chopper can also be ordered from KitchenAid.
It is fully immersible and cleans up in a snap!!
I like the attachments that come with the unit including the storage bag. It has good power too. KitchenAid is a reliable brand.
