This is a real time combat RPG (not a turn base combat) which is great.
I'm almost at the end of the game, and I can't wait to continue playing. The martial arts swordmanship of your character are very extensive. You can combine any type of sword attack moves as you prefer. I can tell you that there are a lot of different attacks, and is very interesting and fun to watch the moves you design by yourself. Also you learn how to attack various enemies at the same time by moving your analog stick. Even more, you can combine any combo attack with another combo on the fly. The only thing that is a little bit difficult is that if you don't play it for a particular time, you kind of get lost on what you were doing and what you are going to do next. The character has a notebook, and writes the different assignments, but sometimes they are not that explanatory. But don't worry, because the characters that you talk will tell you what is happening around and point you where you should be, and also you gain more experience attacking other enemies... Highly recommended! Next version is a MUST BUY.
If you enjoy RPGs, then chances are you will like this game at least a little bit. The voice acting can be pretty terrible at times. The story, though fairly original, has some pretty familiar segments to it. The graphics are good but not great. This an earlier title for PSP and wasn't the biggest game so the graphics and details are lacking in some areas, but overall they are pretty decent.
The game's strengths are in it's battle engine & progression system. It starts out a little slow, but quickly expands into a very involved skill and character progression system. This is pretty much what makes this game. The battle intros and exits are seamless and without loading, so battling a lot to grind out XP is a lot less painful than other games.
The rest of the game is pretty good too. The looting, weapons, customization, etc are enough to keep you playing for quite a while longer.
Overall this is a pretty decent game. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys RPGs.
This RPG seemed to lose alot in translation. The combat system is OK, but at times too easy. After beating the game once you are allowed to keep your items and go through again to try and collect everything, but this seemed kind of pointless.
I had this game 2 years ago and i cleared it 2 times back then... later i sold my psp with the game and i regretted it for 2 years. now i bought it again here on ebay. i suggest each and everyone to try it! you can watch a trailer of the gameplay on youtube if you don't believe me, see for yourself.
When you think about a game with moves, all that fight the first thing that comes in your head is blood and all that destruction situation. Kingdom of Paradise was build in tai-chi moves and the beauty of the movement. All the magic of that martial art is show in details with a story very well created. The game dont give that suffering feeling that you never gonna finish the game and the drops of water of how much you tried to pass of that part, just FLOWS.
You have all the liberty in the creation of the combos in a very simples world.
Of course, the game have some minus, like the weapons and accessories, but, this is not the focus, the moves and all the choreography of the game are gorgeous.
I recommend, is so fun and nice to play.
