    Movie synopsis
From the best-selling novel by Peter Benchley, Steven Spielberg directed this thrill ride of terror. During the height of beach season, the Massachusetts resort town of Amity Island is terrorized one summer by surprise attacks from a great white shark. Three unlikely partners team up to hunt down the rogue and destroy it: the new chief of police from New York (Roy Scheider), a young university-educated oceanographer (Richard Dreyfuss), and a crusty old-time fisherman (Robert Shaw). The film shoot was notoriously difficult for the young Spielberg, who had directed only one feature film before JAWS. The mechanical shark seldom operated correctly, and Spielberg was frequently forced to create the idea of terror without actually showing the shark. However, after the film premiered it went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time--surpassing THE GODFATHER and becoming the first film to gross more than a hundred million dollars. Composer John Williams created the score to JAWS, which has since become a well-known theme of impending doom. Ron and Valerie Taylor were responsible for filming live sharks in Australia; their sequences were later mixed with footage of the mechanical shark.

THIS IS A CLASSIC YOU MUST HAVE IN YOUR COLLECTION

I remember the first time I saw this movie when it first hit theaters, it was a phenomenal action thriller. Based on a novel (which I also read)written by Peter Benchley, this awesome movie directed by Steven Spielberg brings out the best in dorsal fin horror. This film will have you on the edge of your seat, not once but throughout the film. Main actors; Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss, pull out all the stops making this one of Spielbergs greatest works. The JAWS (2002) Anniversary Collector's Edition on WS DVD includes some really cool bonus features including deleted scenes from the original movie.

EVERY TRUE MOVIE BUFF MUST HAVE THIS GEM IN HIS/HER COLLECTION !!!

    JAWS-DVD

This is the Original 'Don't go in the water movie! When an insatiable
great white shark terrorizes the townspeople of Amity Island, a
police chief who is afraid of the ocean played by Roy Scheider
(The Punisher, The Russia House, RKO 281, etc), a grizzled shark
hunter (Robert Shaw) and an oceanographer played by Richard Dreyfuss
(Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Always, The American President, etc)
seek to destroy it. The shark has other ideas and proceeds to attack
the boat they are on and tries to kill them at the same time. A cat
and mouse type chase ensues and becomes a white knuckle adaption of
the Peter Benchley novel that the movie is based on. Master director
Steven Spielberg ( Muchich, Minority Report, Saving Pvt. Ryan, Jurassic
Park, etc) works this movie in a great way-even adding an ominous musical
score each time the shark sets to eat something (mostly people). A great
thriller and classic movie that most people will enjoy and it will provide
almost everyone with a good evening of entertainment.
